When I refinaced my Truck my banks offered Route 66 extended warranty coverage. The $1,200 I paid for a 4 year term seemed reasonable and better priced than most. I also figured sonce my bank recomended them perhaps it was a great thing to have. The day I needed the coverage they did everything under the sun to get out of paying any amout to the Mechanic. I drive a Tundra and the truck was towed to the dealer here in town. I called the 24hr road side service and was told it was after hours and I would need to call back at a different time. I had the vehicle towed paying out $75. The dealer then called Route 66 to confirm coverage on 4 other items that needed fixed. They were going to cover $35 dollars of the $756.00 bill. The Bumper to bumber warranty only covers the drive train.

Also there is a " List", that I never saw, that has several items exemot from coverage. I called my bank and they were furious. My bank called Route 66 and received the same run around I did. Needless to say my bank is no longer going to offer Route 66 as an option for their warranty package. The regonal manger did call me to try and better explain the policy. I informed him the airbag syatem and horn are both part of the safety syatem and should be covered under any warranty. He then explained to me the horn is part of the " Sound System and since the airbags are in the column with the horn they are not covered either.....I have never heard sucj BS!  I summed the policy and his lines of Bull up at the end....letting him know they are there to make money, not help the consumer. I then hung up the phone.
