Royal Holiday Club Buyer Beware Beware Beware!   In June 2013, my husband and I took a trip to Nassau and stayed at the Comfort Inn Suites beside Atlantis resort.  We were invited to a timeshare presentation from Royal Holiday Club.  We were shown a video for Baha Mar, and told we were buying timeshare in the Baha Mar resort, which is to be a rival resort for Atlantis.  We have been time share owners with Club Regina for many years and have enjoyed all of the benefits of this top notch organization.

We were even taken to the location of Baha Mar, toured the facility and shown all of the plans for the development.  My husband and I decided this would truly be a good investment for our family. They took an 8,000.00 down payment on our credit card and we returned to the states feeling very confident in our decision.

The remaining balance was 34,700.00 which was to be paid in December 2013.  I was contacted by a Maria Navarro who represented herself as an employee of Royal Holiday and told that if we paid the remaining balance before December we  would receive an additional 60,000 points which could be used within 2 years.  Again not being suspicious of anything, We gave her our credit card number on Nov 8, 2013.

Thank Heaven for Capital One Credit Card Fraud Division:  they flagged the charge and contacted us.  We have since learned that the Royal Holiday in Bahamas was a total Scam for Baha Mar.  Baha Mar actually partnered up with Hyatt for their timeshares NOT Royal Holiday Club.

I was also informed that Royal Holiday Club shut down all of their operations and affiliations in the Bahamas in October of 2013, after being there for over 30 years.  No wonder Maria Navarro was trying to collect asap, because they were afraid we would discover they were no longer in operation in the Bahamas.

It totally appeared to be legitimate by their taking us to Baha Mar, and even had elaborate location inside the grounds at the Wyndham building in Baha Mar.  We were told that Royal Holiday was doing the timeshare for Baha Mar, and of course since they were inside the location of Baha Mar, there would be no reason for us to suspect any fraudulent activity.

Boy were we wrong! They had offices in both the Baha Mar location and in the Comfort Inn Suites beside Atlantis.  I called the Comfort Inn Suites yesterday Nov 10, 2013 and was told that the Royal Holiday is no longer affiliated with them and they are accepting no Royal Holiday reservations.  In October they closed all Bahama operations and terminated all 60 employees.

Had it not been for Capital One Fraud Department, we would have lost the additional 34,700.00.  Kuddos to them!!!  Capital One has opened a full fraud investigation for the charge from Nov 8, and we are moving forward with US Attorney General office as well as media contacts and consumer complaint websites.

We would like the 8,000.00 back but doubt seriously that will ever happen.  But it could have been much worse.  Had it not been for Capital One, we would have taken a blood bath from this horrible dishonerable, dishonest company.

Stay away from Royal Holiday Club at all costs!  My husband and I are both educated and working professionals, and they are very convincing and are at every level the appearance of legitimate operations.  If they are duping innocent people in the Bahamas, they will dupe innocent people anywhere.  Looks like in the Bahamas, they did the "take the money and run" game.  BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!

Do not have anything to do with Royal Holiday Club anywhere at any time.

I bought a timeshare with Royal Holiday and they lied to me at everything, every time I check for travel dates are not available and it's cheaper to booked flight

and hotel with Expedia. The service is really bad, I asked to speak to the manager and was told that I cannot talk to her and that I cannot cancel my membership.

I't´s been a nightmare for me!!! I was doing a research on internet about this fraudulent resort and how to get out of this fraud, i found this information

and i want to share it with you, i hope it helps someone:

Royal Holiday has a bad reputation within the timeshare resorts. Their sales are done under high pressure sales tactics. I recommend you to visit http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/, there is good information about these fraudulent companies.

Royal Holiday, are liars, they promise you hundreds of five-star hotels around the world, and when you wants to book a room, you have to pay thousands of dollars but at the end nothing is true and these hotels do not exist.

We vacationed in Cancun in 2009 and were approached on the street to attend a timeshare presentation. We love to vacation in Mexico and with the offer of free excursions to attend the presentation, we checked it out. After 3 hours of high pressure sales, we decided to purchase the Royal Holiday timeshare partly just to get out of there. We have used the timeshare once since we purchased it, and it was satisfactory except it costs much more than if you booked it through a travel agency. The annual fee keeps creeping up every year, which we were told it was fixed, and if we are late in paying, we start to get nasty phone calls.

We would like to get out of our timeshare. I don't care if I get my money back, I just want to stop paying the annual fee and cease any contact with Royal Holiday going forward. If I stop paying the annual fee and it goes to a collections agency, can it affect my credit here in Canada? I am willing to stop paying the fee and never visiting Mexico again. That would be a loss for Mexico as we use to visit twice a year to spend our tourism dollars. Since purchasing the timeshare 5 years ago, we have only been back once
