RuiHong Enterprise Ltd. - Zoom Bicycles sends junk parts over & over until you go crazy! What a rip off! Dishonest business practices. Leaking oil, broken parts is what you get from Zoom Bicycles. Burnaby, BC Canada, Internet
I purchased a motor kit 9/3/2009 from Zoom Bicycles (RuiHong Enterprises Ltd.) and had nothing but problems. The engine studs broke one day after installation. The clutch lever also broke upon installation, but it was still useable. The exhaust gasket failed and had a lot of oil leakage. I contacted them threatening a chargeback and they agreed to send me a new motor, since the bolts snapped off and could not be removed. About a week later, the new motor arrived. Installed with no problem. Rode for two days and my exhaust pipe cracked right in half at the weld. I had a friend tack weld it and the very next day the magneto quit and left me stranded about a mile from home. Had to push the bike home. I repaired it with the one from the other engine.
The engine itself seems to be pretty good actually. Lots of power and pretty good performance. Too bad they feel the need to send junk components with the kit. Rather than make a respectful name for themselves, I feel that Zoom Bicycles is nothing but a Chinese junk peddler. The exhaust pipe, clutch lever, magneto and exhaust gasket should (in my humble opinion) last more than just a few days of riding. How would you feel if you spent $135 for something that broke down both electrically and mechanically within a few days? I think this certainly qualifies as a lemon, by definition. Don't you agree?
If you are reading this message, perhaps you got screwed too. I would encourage you to contact your credit card company and dispute the transaction under the buyer protection policy. Also, take a moment and file a compaint on this website to help others steer clear of dishonest merchants. This is a fun hobby, let's get rid of the junk dealers who want to separate us from our hard earned dollars. Had I known it would be like this, I would have purchased from another company.
