2002 Beaver Marquis Emerald, Al Thompson seller.

Beware of this coach that is actively being offered on RVT.com and RVonline. Seller Thompson agreed to sell to me for a sum-certain, delivering the coach from Altanta to South Florida (for which he was being paid). We have a written contract and I paid a $1000 deposit. Two days before closing, Thompson called saying he couldn't make it and didn't know when he could. Seems he stupidly installed 6-12v batteries, instead of 6-volt batteries, wired them in series (putting 36-72 volts in the 12v system) started the engine and ran the coach! The inverter fryed, the slides wounld operate, and there were other problems. Knowledgable folks told me that if I bought this coach I could have never-ending, unexpected electrical problems due to the many circuits and devices involved. I cancelled the deal. Thompson refuses to return my $1000, even though our contract says otherwise.

Thompson continues to run his advertisement with no disclosure of the event. I made RV Trader and RV Online aware of this situation and suggested that they recall this ad inasmuch as some hapless buyer will get a hold of this tainted coach from a seller of dubious reputation. Both on-line advertisers refused to do so. RV Online did contact the seller who said "You don't know the whole story". I know enough of the story to have lost faith in the seller and his coach. All of this is presented on iRV2.com / Class A motorhomes.

The right thing for online advertisers to do is remove any ad that involves a legitimate dispute such as this, disputes over the quality of the goods and the relaibility of the seller. Until and unless Thompson comes clean on his nuking of his coach and produces iron-clad shop evaluations of the entire electrical system, he should not be allowed to offer his coach as being roadworthy. For these on-line advertising companies to allow otherwies is to aid and abet a very dirty deed.

First let me explain a Battery to help you understand the working of a battery. A battery has a Neg and a Pos. They are 12 volt with different amps 600/800/850/1000 cranking amps. Now if you take 2 batteries and connect them together it DOES NOT create a 24 volt battery. It is still a 12 volt battery system just the cranking amps are now doubled. Ask any truck mechanic or any owner operator. We run 4 12 volt batteries in truck every day... You were taken for the 1,000.00 with a bogus lie...
