Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We had our basement finished when our house was being built and one of the items that the builder decided would be a good idea would be to build a closet around the sub-pump since it was in the bedroom. We agreed. Once the builder got to the area he decided that he did not have time to build the closet and refused to do so since this was a verbal agreement. Our mistake.

An item on our to-do list was to tighten a vent in the basement because it was hanging, this was before we purchased the house. After we purchased the house we discovered that there was only 1 vent in the entire basement (1700 sq ft finished basement). The vent behind the wall is cut vertical while the vent cover was put on horizantal. So you only have a very small hole that any heat is coming into the basement from. We had to take the vent cover down to fix this problem. Only to find that the builder had caulked this to the ceiling (to tighten the vent from the to-do list). SLOPPY.

The builder refused to put any handles on the kitchen cabinets, as well as backspalsh behind the jetted tub, or gap fillers to hide the spaced between the double cabinets for the his and her sink. "They did not come with it" he says. CHEAP I did make him purchase the plugs for the doors to hide the screws as he was not even going to do that. He did not want to paint the main doors either. He thought primer was the paint color!

We purchased the house 12/03/04 with an agreement signed by both parties that he would come back to the house within 10 days of closing to take care of the rest of the to-do list, fix some scratches in the shower, fix the breakfast room doors which leaked really bad from an improper hanging, and finish painting some doors in the basement. As of 01/30/05 the breakfast room door is the only item that he has came back to do and he only half way completed that. He refused to take the door down and hang it properly so until we pay to have someone do that the right way it will never shut correctly.

Our foyer is ceramic tile and currently four of these tiles are cracked. This is from the floor being uneven and the house settling. I have sent the builder two seperate letters and he has made no attempt to stop by and take care of this. Even though he is building 2 more house down the street from me.

Speaking of, the week after we closed on our house the builder contacted me to yell at me about how my husband and I made him have to file bancruptcy. When he found out that we were hiring an attorney he changed his story and told us that he was closing his company but would still honor his warranty. Not only is he not honoring his warratny but as of last week he has disconnected his phone number.

I will be happy to show pictures to anyone interested. As well no attorney was contacted until much later when Strahle refused to fix the items. Which in fact we won our law suit and to this day have not seen a penny. Strahle has owned 5 different construction companies since he built our house. Hmm wonder why. He has another lawsuit on him from the house that he built after ours (with the 2nd company he owned). He never attempted to fix anything until after the lawsuit was filed. And then he was only willing to put on band aids. He refuses to fix the items correctly. I would never recommend this guy. Buyers beware.

1st, The vent was attached correctly. Only after moving in did it come loose. there was also scrape mark on the drywall and vent from them hitting it while moving.. I informed them that since they knocked it loose it would be there responceabilty to fix it themselfs. 2nd Door handle on the kitchen cabinets was an extra charge. They did not want to pay for any up grades. 3rd There was no gap between the his and her sinks. It as a single 60" vanity. There is no way of a gap. 4th The exterior doors was paint with the proper exterior white paint. They wanted a different color choice after closing. All plugs was installed. one fell out and I replaced it. 5th They contacted a attorney with 6 days of closing on the house. I offered then 37 different calender days to come back. The only days that would work are the days that she was home alone. After being approached several times from her. I was not comfortable be alone with her. When I sent out employees. she refused service. 6th I never had any problem trying to work with them. When someone wants something more from you then there entitled to. It makes it very difficult to work with them. 7th Thank you for reading myside
