The contract clearly stated all work to be done. The owner approached me, when the work was done and she made final payment, about additional work that wasn't in the contract. Despite the owners statement, all molding was done. She is correct regarding the stair spindles because I was never asked to paint the stairwell. The homeowner was pressed for time since she was moving. Her words to me were "...I have no complaints about the work outlined in the contract..." In fact, the owner originally wanted all walls painted and to leave the ceilings alone. She was hoping to save money. But once I painted the walls they wanted the ceilings done. I did the ceilings AND DOD NOT CHARGE THE OWNER. The owner did complain about one (1) door and radiator when a final payment was made. I went back and repainted both items. I take immense pride in the work I do. My policy is that whenever a client is not happy with my work, I will redo the work at no extra cost. HOWEVER, everything agreed upon in a contract is binding. I make sure all work is included in the contract PRIOR to signing it. This posting is extremely unfortunate.
