About March 2009 Safe Security (SS) took over the accounts of the security monitoring firm I was with, and with whom I was paid in full through May 2010. In June 2009 SS issued an invoice to me for a time period that incuded months that I had already paid for, and incorrectly credited my account for that payment. Dealing wih their customer service depatrment was a challenge since they were slow in returning calls and would not admit any mistakes were made.



On July 12th I wrote SS and sent them a copy of the bank check in order to prove their error. They then followed up the first invoice with another, crediting my account regarding the error, but still insisting on payment for the original invoice. At this point I became aware of the initial complaint report on this web site, and became leary of SS. On August 11th I received a phone call from SS's Mr. Randy Perkins' (COO) administrative aid, Michele Fulton, which included: an apology and a statement of my paid up status until June 30, 2010. She said she would follow it up with an email that day, which I received over a week later only after I had stated in a letter to Mr. Perkins I wrote on August 18th regarding the billing error, canceling my service, and requesting a $175.00 refund, that I never received the email. I also filed a complaint with the Golden Gate Better Business Bureau in Oakland, CA., after receiving yet another invoice, this one for $300.00, for (you guessed it) the same period I was already paid up for, plus the alledged unpaid previous balance.



On September 8th I wrote Mr. Perkins yet another letter.

On October 1, 2009 Safe Security transferred our account back to the previous security company. Therefore they no longer owe us for the prepaid period after we had cancelled the service and, hopefully, they will no longer send us invoices.

The Better Business Bureau complaint has been closed.
