safeway insurance co is a ripoff; unfair claims practices. westmont, Illinois
the business that doesn't give a dam .....
I was recently run off the road by a Safeway Insurance costumer that admitted fault not only to the officer at the scene, but to to myself and several other witnesses. The incident left my 1990 Toyota 4-runner totaled. Having only liability insurance on the vehicle I made a claim with the other parties insurance co. (Safeway). The claim was filed on 8/26/02. I received a letter dated 8/27/02 stating that they would not pay storage on my vehicle which resides at the body shop that the sherrif's dept.
had it towed to after the accident.
The next letter I received came on 8/31/02 which was also dated 8/27/02 stating that after reveiwing the facts they have come to the conclusion that they are not liable for the claim. I requested a copy of the police report on 8/26/02 and did not recieve it until 8/29/02. In it
states that the Safeway insured driver admitted fault,was in the middle of the road and not paying attention to the road.
It is my conclusion that Safeway had no intention of paying this claim from the start,and that their conclusion is based on nothing more than a pursuaded statment of the insured after the fact. I would not insure my goldfish with unscrupulous peice of
crap company.

i have safeway and was in a wreck yesterday. some lady smashed into the back of my rodeo and said that i switched lanes on her, when in actuallity i was in her laneand i slowed for a truck with a boat that was merging and she smashed into me and now i have back pains and i am only 19. after reading your argument i think i want to switch companies and i hope i cant get paid for this b/s that happened.
