I have always made my payments on time, never late and always making more then the min amount. I went on line to try to post a payment and discovered that the web site was no longer available. When I tried to contact Salute Visa, I got no responce in speaking to a customer service rep. Then I received a phone call tonight with someone wanting me to pay my bill over the phone. They told me that letters was sent out to me to state that my account was close. I was told that I would have to continue to pay all fees that was attached to this card as if I was still using it. I think that they are the biggest rip offs I have ever come accross. Why should I have to continue paying monthly fees and am not able to use this card. I have no problem in paying the balance that I have use, but in the agreement with the card was to continue being a card holder there was monthly fees attach. Again I state that the monthly fees should no longer be attach, because they are the one who cancel this card out with no reason being. Now they want to state that my payment is pass due, after closing down the web site with no notice.

#2Consumer Suggestion

I am also a none-too-happy Salute visa client, but things are not as bleak as you claim All charged annual fees will be prorated and credited to accounts in December. The payment website www.mysalutecard.com is open and ruinning. The $4.95 payment fee is waived and no longer collected wiht online payments. .As far as the maintenance fee you are right on-they contend that because they have to service the accounts they are entitled to the fee. I vote with you B.S., but FTC pressure makes it look like they won't be able to make this stick. Only time will tell. My suggestion, if you can pay your balance in full, collect you annual fee refund, pay it and forget them. Remember, they are absolutely entitled to their obscene interest on your unpaid balance and tiny payments for seeming revenge will only give them the upper hand.
