I understand how having issues with a cellphone can cause a lot of stress for a individual. I feel however that a little information will go a long ways. The "water damage" indicater is simply a piece of litmis paper. Thats all it is. Now this paper can be activated any number of ways. direct water will activate it. But it can also be activated by steam or a heavier then normal humidity. Now for the litmis paper to react to steam or humidity it has to be around those for awhile. its a gradual process with the paper changing color due to the amount of moisture exposure.
Unfortuntly, the tech who examined your phone found that the litmis paper had been activated. That poor technician has only what they can see in front of them. If the litmis paper is activated and corosion shows up in the phone, thats what the tech has to go by. The technician thenselves are not sitting there pouring water over your phone in order to determine if its fixable or not.
In the future a solution for you would be to keep your phone out of the bathroom/kitchen/hottub if there is a lot of steam. Then also try and find a nice solid case to put it in. Its a good idea and it helps to protect your phone from damages. A case will also help by putting another barrier between the enviroment and the phone. I can understand how not knowing this information can cause issues, but forewarned is forearmed. Samsung makes a great phone, its how WE use it that ends up causing problems for ourselves.
