I purchased a Samsung LCD HGTV - Model no. LN46a550p3fxza in July 2008. It has been a wonderful product until today when it began clicking when it was turned on. The clicking continues even if you unplug the unit.

I did some internet research and found that MANY, many customers had the same problem, although many model numbers were involved. Apparently, many Samsung tv's have a power supply issue.

I contacted Samsung directly, even though my television is beyond warranty. Since this is a known issue, I hoped that Samsung would do something about it even though everything I had read on the web said that Samsung would not even admit the problem. The tech who spoke with me acknowledged the issue, but said that Samsung was not doing anything about the problem. He gave me a transaction number: 2010641083.

I feel strongly that there should be a class action suit involving Samsung. They have an issue that should incite them to issue a recall or to offer a fix and they chose to ignore it.

Today, I had to purchase a television to replace my Samsung until I am able to have it repaired. Even though I looked at many televisions and the Samsungs clearly had superior picture and other features, I did not, nor I will ever, purchase another Samsung and I will tell everyone I know about my experience.

Do NOT buy a Samsung TV until they fix this issue and offer free repairs to current owners.
