I ordered a Samsung 226BW 22" LCD monitor on 12/12/07 and when it arrived a few dauys later, I promptly sent off the rebate requirements a few days after it arrived UPS. I have been a huge Samsung fan for the last 2 years and I am directly responsible for at least $10,000 of Samsung merchandise being purchased over that time period. I received an email last week, through which I found that my claim for a $40.00 rebate was being denied. The stated reason was "Submission did not include an original UPC" and "Submission did not include an original serial number bar code". Wrong! I cut the UPC/SN off the night I received the monitor, and stuffed everything in the envelope.

So today I called the service number 877-593-4193 and told the same line again and again: "you did not include the original UPC and Serial number". I insist that I did and they repeat back to me that I did not. I asked him' how can I submit the originals, when I have already sent them to you? After insinuating that I am lying or incompetent, I asked to speak to a manager. This guy spouted the same lines and had no regard for my previous Samsung loyalty. I asked if his company was incapable of making a mistake. In a word, he said NO. So to sum up: according to Samsung or Web-Rebates.com, I am out of luck unless I can produce the UPC that I have already sent them.

I don't know if Samsung or Web-Rebates.com are the same company or separate. I do know that if this is not rectified to my satisfaction, I will take my $40.00 loss and purchase another brand (and avoid rebates too).

At no time did the representatives I spoke with say that I could submit copies. They stood firm that I had not submitted the originals. I have since looked for my copies and I have copies of everything but the all important UPC/SN that I cut from the box. At this point I am SOL, and will unlikely purchase another Samsung product. I certainly will shy away from anything with a sizable rebate in the future also. The $40.00 is not going to break me, but the principle of the matter bothers me.

are your copies of everything you sent them? They will accept copies as a resubmission.
