You do realize that you can but a new battery on Amazon or the like for less than $10.00 after shipping, don't you? I am not saying to discontinue what you are seeking, but in the meantime you can get a new battery and use your phone while you are doing whatever you feel you need to do.

Today I received my phone via UPS. Just as I suspected, the idiots sent my phone back WITH the leaking battery. As soon as I opened the package the odor from the package filled the air. I have to keep the package closed and sealed or I get dizzy and nautious from the fumes. All I have to do is be in the same room as the open package. That is how strong the fumes are.
I have left a voicemail at the Consumer Product Safety Commission to update my report. I notified them that Samsung sent back the defective and leaking battery. I also informed them of the very strong odor that the battery is emitting as well as how the package must be kept sealed in order to avoid any negative side effects of the strong fumes.
Unfortunately it's late and on a Friday, therefore, I most likely won't hear anything until Monday. However, I do hope that the Consumer Product Safety Commission comes down hard on Samsung. Furthermore, I believe the company should be fined since they sent a package containing hazardous materials without properly packaging and labeling it as such. I will be contacting UPS to let them know about the hazardous package that was intentionally not properly labeled by Samsung.
I have tried various menus on the phone system of Samsung. If you don't press the right option after a couple tries their system hangs up on you. There are no "other" options. Quite evident that Samsung wants to avoid dealing with consumers.
