Part of the new build construction project at Indian Rocks Beach (est $300K) was using the selected contractor (Sandcastle Coastal Homes) for an initial small  roof & ceiling repair job. This initial job did not go well. They required $1,500 full payment in advancet, completed 1/4 of the job, left no materials and never returned to complete the work. I am now out additional funds with no product. Very grateful I did not sign the pre-construction contract to build and incur worse financial hardships.  I would never recommend this contractor.  The construction contracts provided to me for signature with initial downpayment for new build did not even have the construction company responsible parties name listed.  Only my name as accountable for the project funds. No contractor was names as accountable for the build project. I would like to share these contracts as examples of the unethical business practice. I am optimistic that I will eventually find a reputable honest home builder in Pinellas County FL.

I am deeply disturbed that Kenny who had signed the agreement to pay me for the damages can simply renig on his word.  He is one person who never keeps his agreement.  Says he will do one thing but hardly comes through unless you press on and on and on.  You need to have great time and patience baby sitting his projects which you are paying dearly at a high cost.  Very stressful and tiring.  When ever someone puts a post his immediate reaction is that it is false and he would explore all options to protect his reputation.  But if he does it right in the first place he would never have to do so.  His reputation means nothing for someone who does not keep his word.  It is toothless.  There is no honesty and ehtical about this company and it is all about making the money regardless of the outcome, quality and consequences.  This is one hell of a salesman you would want to avoid who goes by calling himself a contractor but does not even know how to hang a door straight.  It is really a joke if you hire him!

I am grateful that I tried this company for a small repair job prior to signing a contract (pre-construction) to build a home for my lot in Indian Rocks Beach.  The initial small job (that was done as a test of workmanship) did not go well.  Only 1/4 of the work was completed, no materials were left and the $1,500 required payment up front was lost.  Florida does not have much oversight in the construction industry.  Therefore, we all need to be careful to vet contractors prior to entering into a contractual agreement with them.  We should also always have a reliable attorney review any proposed contract prior to signing or payment of any money.  1 step in my vetting process was to hire for a small test job to observe the workmanship and professionalism.  I did not move forward with any other work because the initial small test job did not go well.

My report is accurate and truthful.

#4REBUTTAL Owner of company

The statement made by this person is false and inaccurate. The facts are as follows:

This person sought my company out to investigate the feasibility of building a house on her site. My company was to find her a floor plan, develop a proposal with an estimated cost and produce complete set of plans for the project. This person suggests that having repairs to her current house and a friends house was part of the proposal to build a new house. This is false. This was never part of my company's proposal or pre-contract services agreement.

This person asked me to refer her to someone that had the skill set to do the work on her cureent house and some work on a friends house. My company had nothing to do with their agreements, this was not an employee of my company and my company accepted no monies and their was no contract from my company on these repairs. This was a completly seperate transaction between him and her.

This person suggests that their was a pre-construction contract which again is false. Along with the proposal which is what it says, a proposal my company delivered to this person a pre-contract services agreement that set out the costs of deleloping a complete set of plans for the new build. On the proposal it clearly states that the costs on the pre- contract services agreement were not part of the proposal. Again, no contracts were initiated by my company.

This person suggests that their was no company information on the documents in question which again is false. The proposal had my company name, address, multiple phone numbers and my license number. The pre-contract service agreement also had my company name and a signature line with my company name included.

At no time was there every any contract submitted. Only a proposal for the sole pourpose of identifying the general scope of work proposed for the new build and a estimate window of the estimated cost.

I am deeply desturbed that this person can post false information against me and my company. I am exploring my options to protect my reputation and to right this wrong. I am appalled over this as my company was deliberate in operating in a honest and ethical manner.
