Urgent care facilities are for people who need to see a doctor quickly but not quite in an "emergency" basis. If this was a "basic" exam why did you go to an Urgent Care facility? You should have gone to your regular doctor.
You could do something about it, but just like everything else it is YOUR responsibility to do that. You could have easily asked what they charge for their services BEFORE you saw the doctor. If you didn't like the price you could have gone to another doctor.
Oh and if you really think that the $308 amount would be close to what you are charged in an Emergency Room, you are very mistaken. For $300 in an ER you would be lucky to just get your temperature taken.
