scoreoutlook.com fake ad for apartment led to my buying their product Internet
I answered an ad purportedly from a private individual renting a room in Washington DC which included a request for a credit score and provided a link to scoreoutlook.com. There I paid $1 to try their service and get a score, and I sent the report to the email address associated with the ad. Scoreoutlook.com says that you get 7 days access for the $1 and then you will be billed I think $29 per month for continued updates and other credit services (?). I did not need that and so planned to cancel my subscription before the seven days were up. There was no answer to the ad for the room, and I became suspicious because I was very interested in the room and had responded quickly so when I didn't hear back I called Score Outlook.com to describe what had happened and ask if my info was safe. They reassured me that it was okay and not to worry, which made me more suspicious. So I looked at their website more closely and there are typos and other irregularities so I immediately canceled my subscription though they tried to talk me into not doing so. Clearly this was a fake ad designed to get people to buy their credit reports.
