Scotia Motors has been there for 70 years. A business does not stay in business that long unless they give you great sales and service. Just from the tone of this report I see a guy that thinks he is better than, with a chip on his shoulder. Being in the auto industry for many years I can tell you that the NYS lemon law is for engine transmission and radiator. There is absolutely no warranty on electrical items unless the manufactures 3/36 warranty is still in affect. dealers will offer extended warranties to their customers because cars are cars and they all have a tendency to breakdown, especially in NY with the ammount of salt on the roads that damage electronics. They chose not to take a warranty so now the cost is on them. I'm quite sure that if that person was respectful he would have gotten it done for free but instead he got nothing. He sure showed them didn't he.

I have been a customer of Scotia Motors having bought 4 vehicles there in the past 11 years. In all that time I have been treated very well and with dignity and respect and I would recommend that dealership for both sales and service without hesitation. I am sorry the person feels as if they were not treated well, but I suspect they may have gotten what they gave.

This person that filed a report never bought a car at Scotia Motors. In addition, Scotia Motors offered the customer that bought this car an extended warranty that would cover items such as a power window switch and was declined. A claim was never filed with the Better Business Bureau or the AG office because a power window switch is not covered under any warranty other than the manufacterers warranty. A word of advice to anyone that will read. If you are having a problem with any vehicle, talk to the dealer yourself. Do not send in a third party that had nothing to do with the purchase of the car. Especially if the person is overbearing, obnoscious, and rude. You will get further along with getting something covered that normally would not be if you are nice. Verbally abusing staff with threats of suing and reports will get you nowhere. Since this report was filed on 4/08 on this website, we have retailed over 500 cars. Most of these have been pre-owned. Some have had problems afterward. Some of those problems were not covered under factory or NYS warranty. We have addressed each problem on a case to case basis and we have not had a report like this one on any of them. So essentially we have a 99.9949% success rate with our customers. Unfortunately, you cannot keep everyone happy. Especially when the only complaint filed was from someone who never bought a car from Scotia Motors.
