Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I had my car for repair. They told me I have to pay $96.88 for diagnostic test

they told me it will take about 2 hours to 3 because they had other customers ahead mo me. So I left the car with them and went home. they will call me when the finish the diagnostic. After 3 hours they told me nothing is wrong with the car and you can pick it up they said.. I told them there is something wrong with the radiator fan. its not turning on when you turn on the AC. I told them there is something wrong with the fuse or the thermostat switch.

They said that they will look in to it. after an hour they said that your condenser fan is burn out and needs to be replace. I told them how much is the fan? They replied that its expensive it cost $200 I replied why so expensive. they said because its for Accura. I told them ok install it. I got the car and the bill was $333

I did not look inside the hood. I trusted them and just paid and drove away

When I came to my home I look at the install fan. I began to see that it looks the same fan. and it was dusty. I doubt they replace the fan.

I ask myself why did they replace the condenser fan when the condenser fan was working.. it was the radiator fan that is not working. The bad thing is that the radiator fan keep running for hours during the night the next day my car did not start the battery was drained and dead.

I had to jumpstart my car and went back to the repair shop to complain.

they said that there was other problem in your car that did not come out until we replace the fan. it may be your battery or alternator. I told them my battery is just a year old . Maybe your alternator. I replied Hey your going the wrong way. Its like the problem is on my left hand and your telling me its on the right hand side.

I have told them the problem is the thermo switch sensor. that need to be replace. They said no its the fan that is why we replace it because it got burn. So how did it get burn? for a short run or for running over night? and draining my battery

I met there a lady who was also complaining about the repair of her car she said they change her timimg belt.. the lady said how can they change it when she bought it a week ago. and its still new.

I left and went to work. I did not know one of my office staff had his car repaid at the same shop I got rip off. He told me he had his car's AC repaired in there and spend $ 1000.00 for the repair that his AC still not working With his fustration he sold his car.

There are a lot of people being victimize by this repair shop. I hope that people would stay away from this Repair shop. and hope it shuts down

My name is Scott , I am the owner of Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes. I am proud of the quality of service, and the record my shop has. As far as Mr. Hernandez's complaint, I will suffice to say that all diagnosis and work performed was in accordance with both manufacturers and industry standards. At 3:00 on a Friday afternoon, I personally drove approximately 1/2 Hour to pick up the part that fixed the problem for which the vehicle was brought in for (AC Fan not working). I would also like to note that as the work orders show. "Frank" was credited for the full cost of the labor to install the entire condensor fan assembly. The cost of Diagnosis, Part and Installation provided to "Frank" was extremely competitive, further all work was performed by a fully ASE Certified Technician. In addition when "Frank" returned, and was shown & demonstrated the fans were operating in accordance with specifications, it was confirmed and witnessed by several technicians and myself. The work performed is also fully warranted, and other than Franks "opinion", I am aware of no Technicion or other regulatory agency that has advised any of the work or diagnosis was improper. In addition to this Blog, "Frank" also has filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and who knows who else. I have fully complied and participated in all request by the BBB. I am confident in the findings of their investigation, just as I am in the work performed and price charged. I challenge "Frank" to back up any of these points he makes: 1) I contend you were quoted the full price of the repairs including Parts and Labor I also contend you were advised that you would be credited $48.44 towards the repair, thus resulting in a "free" installation, the only labor charged was for the diagnosis. Can you provide any documentation that shows otherwise 2) I contend that Kragen does not sell a Condensor Cooling Fan for a 1991 Acura Integra for $64.00 can you provide any evidence contrary. I called Kragen of Citrus Heights, 916-721-5656, as well as Kragen of Orangevale 916-863-0356 - There is NO listing from either of these stores for a Condensor Fan Motor, the only product they list is a complete assembly which is a special order from Dorman Products for $292.99 3) I contend that the total amount of $333.02, for Diagnosis, Installation and the part (an entire used Acura Condensor Fan Assembly) is a fair price, can you provide any evidence this is not a fair price? 4) On Saturday the following day, were you not shown the operation of the AC (Condensor) fan turning on and off when the AC Button on the dashboard was pushed? 5) On the same day were you not shown the defective part removed from your vehicle? 6) You state a person in your office complained about being charged $1000.00 for AC repairs, that never worked, can you provide any back up to this claim any workorder?, attempts for repair? Any other verification of his complaint by a legitimate shop advising repairs were not performed appropriately? 7) You mention a complaint by a lady advising we replaced a timing belt on a car that was only a week old, I say this is completely false, I challenge you to provide any evidence of this assertation. I fully believe in Karma and the belief in treating others as you would want to be treated. I feel the complaints and methods being undertaken by Mr. Hernandez are inappropriate and unfair. I have a family to support, as well as numerous employees who work hard for me and our customers, a false & incorrect report such as that filed by "Frank" only hurts us all. I am not the bad guy, I am here to provide a quality product and fair price. We are a very regulated agency, and under the regular scrutiny by the California Department of Consumer Repairs Bureau of Automotive Repairs Division. I am proud of the record I maintain, as I am also proud of the amount of repeat business this facility has, as well as the incredible amount of referrals our customers provide. I will be happy to answer any questions one may have on this issue or otherwise, come by the shop or call 916-726-611. I am usually at the shop 6 Days a week, and hold full responsibility for the shop, good or bad. I will also be happy to provide many many referralls of people that will acknowledge the quality product and service we supply. In 2008 we serviced 5,274 Customers at this facility, averaging near 20 cars per day. I encourage people to check with the Bureau of Automotive Repair, or for that matter The Better Business Bureau to check on complaints and resolutions regarding this facility (I have owned it since November 2006). I am sorry "Frank" is not pleased, unfortunately he has an 18 year old car, that requires some attention. I have offered a complementary diagnosis to Mr. Hernandez to address additional problems his care seems to have. Those that know me know, my main goal is after everything is said and done, we are all able to Keep Smilin' - Scott
