Car Fraud 2002 Land Rover, Black Range Rover 43K miles

VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Cameron Shafighi: As you know, on March 23, 2009, I purchased a used 2002 Land Rover, Range Rover from your dealership. At that time you represented to me that the car was in excellent working condition and that it had not been in any accidents. I purchased the Land Rover based on those representations. Two days later I had the car inspected and was informed that, contrary to your representations, the Land Rover had been in a serious accident and had significant damage to engine and suspension costing $7K about half what I paid for the Range Rover. Needless to say, if I had known about the damage at the time of purchase, I never would have bought it.

I have documented evidence that all of the damage described above were the result of the accident that occurred before I owned the car. I believe that the concealment of this material information was deceptive and in violation of California Civil Code 1770 (a)(2), (4), (5), (7), (9), (14), (16), and (19). These acts constitute fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud on the part of Seaside Motors and you personally.

I have repeatedly requested, both verbally on the phone and by certified fax in writing on March 26, 2009 that you take the Land Rover back and fully refund my purchase price of $17,XXX.XX to my bank XXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXX reference loan account number XXXXX. I demand that you do this immediately. Once my bank receives your check and I verify that you have paid off the loan on the car I will immediately return the car to your dealership. The car has been garaged and NOT in use since March 26, 2009 miles remain 43K

Please respond in writing within 14 days of receipt of this letter. I will allow 30 days from receipt of this letter to comply with instructions contained herein. If you fail to respond or to resolve this matter in that timeframe, I will proceed with filing a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court and notifying the California State Attorney General's Office of your criminal fraud. I will likewise ensure that every relevant consumer watchdog organization and consumer review website contains a detailed description of your actions in this matter.

Avoid Seaside Motors. Buy your Land Rover anywhere else!

My name is Michael and I filed the first ROR on Seaside motors back in 2005. I am not surprised to see all these comments.

Avoid this car dealership. If you are going to purchase a car here put a contingency in the contract they will pay for a through inspection by an independent certified LAnd Rover Master Tech of your choosing. If the car is clean - you pay 1/2 the inspection. If the car is dirty they pay 100% of the inspection costs. Let them back up their talk. And when they refuse (which they will) just leave. Take your money and your business elsewhere.

You really have to do your work when purchasing a Land Rover. You need to invrest your time. A car fax report is not good enough

These are cheap, foreign, slick used car salesmen.

You are better of demanding contingencies in wriring and asserting terms yourself. The most important thing is the inspection! You assert your rights. When they act rude or refuse - you leave.

If they are telling the truth they will have no problem agreeing!
