Response provided by the organization

The employee is thanked for contacting the Alert line. I am in receipt of your complaint and have reviewed it. Your complaint is that your dental insurance, which you enrolled for in December 2006, was being deducted from your

check, however you did not have coverage. I apologize greatly for any miscommunication, but it appears that your Dental Office contacted the wrong Insurance office when trying to verify your coverage. You do in fact have medical and dental coverage and you have had it since December 2006. I would be happy to provide you with the telephone number for Aetna, for your Dentist office to verify your coverage, should you choose to make another appointment. Please feel free to contact me at the Tucson Branch Office number, 520-296-3833.

Mr. Carter I understand that you have turned in a two week written notice of intent to terminate employment and that today is your last day working with Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. I would like to thank you for your dedicated service and remind you you're your Medical and Dental Benefits will continue until July 31, 2007. Soon you will be receiving a Cobra packet, an option for you to continue your medical and dental benefits coverage, even after terminating employment.

Mr. Carter, Finally I would like to thank you again for contacting the Alert line to voice your concerns, and for being so patient with us while we investigate your complaint. I would also like to thank you for your time, and I hope that I have been as able to address your concerns and resolve this in an efficient and effective manner.

Respectfully,

Jamie Henson

Jamie Henson, Did contact me on the said date. She spoke with her on the 13th of july. I told her that the dentist office call the number on the front of my insurance card and was told I had no coverage, then the appointment was cancelled.I then went home and called the same number and was told by a Sharon or Susan whomever, that I had no dental coverage at this time and to contact the Secuitas office. I then phoned one week later and they told me I had coverage. Jamie had Lori in the HR office contact Coorerate. She was not getting a return call. so Lori and I on a confernce call contacted the Head of benefits to ask what happened. She stated to me "we tell SRC/Aetna not to tell employees they do not have coverage" and there would be no refund. I then Phoned SRC and spoke to Tony who said I was covered and since December 22, 2006. Jamie phone me about contacting the hotline on July 13th at 6:45 PM. She told me the insurance office said I lied and no onehad ever phoned them. She said she would look into it further and get back with me. Then it says here she put a statement in on the 12th???. Also that I terminated my employment with Securitas Services USA, I did not. I requested a transfer to The Erie, PA branch. And now after all this My Benefits will be cancelled at the end of the month. Whats going on?

I GOT NO RESPONSE AND NO REFUND:

Securitas Security Services: Resolving Problems

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, August 12, 2008

I am reading many reports of problems with Securitas Security Services here at RipOff Report. I have a suggestion as to how to deal with this Giant of the Security World: Contact their US Corporate office, not ANY regional office... and do that professionally. All that I have read thus far, I certainly believe. Securitas is actually a collection of companies and their European section and a few of the US offices are light years more professional than what we see here. When I worked for the company I was actually fearful that they would somehow ruin me, my reputation or in some manner "screw my life up" because.....frankly, everything you read here is true. They ARE that unprofessional. I am also convinced that IF the corporate heads knew just HOW badly that company was run on a local level they would step in to resolve the matter. I will certainly NOT deny that these complaints are true, I will add that the company often "shorts your paycheck"! They often (THIS HAPPENS MORE THAN ANYONE WOULD BELIEVE) say it's an accounting error but it's never an error in the positive - always in the negative. That's a very suspicious aspect of "accounting errors": only going in one direction! You MUST always count and keep record of your hours when working for Securitas. Keep records of things said, record conversations, and make d**n sure you know a good labor lawyer because Securitas is a real "special" company on a local level. Another thing that is common with this company is the destroying or falsifying of failed drug tests or simply not doing them so that they can hire who they need (they need bodies; numbers). Now to solutions......I see we have a compilation of problems with local Securitas offices. These MUST be brought to the attention of the office in Chicago. Many of the names mentioned no longer work for the firm, some have been fired or some just walked out the door! I believe that one of the girls actually ran out the door and of course, no longer works there..... If you believe you have been treated unfairly, you MUST take action because it's the ethical thing to do! You are reading about others being treated unfairly and yet you sit back and do nothing ??? That is as wrong as not helping someone who is hurt when you could do so! In Tucson & Phoenix, they are a very large employer. Many people have worked for them - but unfortunately working as a security guard is a low paying job that often attracts people who either have the means to (& do) move on quickly or no means at all to help themselves to better career. The more that IS said about this issue the more it will eventually have an impact on the accounts that Securitas can attract. Their method of account dealings is to write big accounts, fast! This is done because they are large enough to quote low numbers and ride on their multi-national reputation. Their reputation in Europe is actually quite high! The problems come in with the small offices in the US. However, the more that is said publicly; the more people may think twice before signing a contract with them OR EVER WORKING FOR THEM! Contract dollars have impact greater than the moans & tears of any employees. Do the ethical thing and contact the Corporate Office with specific and well thought out descriptions of the problems. Use RipOff Report to document for others, the elemental problems with Securitas. But do NOT remain silent. REMAINING SILENT IN THE MIDST OF A WRONG CAN BE AS UGLY OR COWARDLY AS COMMITTING THAT WRONG!

Take this to your Employment Commission, report it to IRS because no telling how many other employees are getting this money SKIMMED from their paychecks! Contact the Criminal Investigation division of the IRS and tell them what is going off and then QUIT. Because it WILL NOT STOP! They will just find something else to skim from your paycheck! And another dirty little secret of security companies. sometime they take Social Security payments out of your check but they don'[t send them to the Social Security Administration. you better call your social security administration and makes sure that your employer HAS paid them. You see, the employer really doesn't have to and it is up to YOU to make sure that they do. SURPRISED? You'd better check on it ASAP! Social Security will MAKE them put what you have coming to you back into your Social Security Account but YOU will have to call them --SOCIAL SECURITY, that is. TELL EVERYBODY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU WHEN YOU WORKED FOR THESE PEOPLE. GET OUT NOW WHILE YOU ARE STILL YOUNG ENOUGH TO START OVER AND LEARN A REAL JOB SKILL. Don't go to work for a security company until you check them out in the ripoffreport.com

It's not a good idea to vent at them in e-mail, I did it once and as a consequence they've been slandering me to ever prospective employer that's ever called and asked for a reference. Take to them on the phone or not at all, they have a nasty habit of using anything you vent at them against your integrity. I just applied for a Job as a traffic attendant, I got a letter very polite from the company concerned and it basically stated due to a negative response provided on your CV. That is illegal, I don't know how their managing to swing it, maybe because I had a complete nervous breakdown, I don't know, but be warned! I worked for one company for almost a year enforcing the RTA and when I left I did so on good terms, they told me my NVQ in enforcing the RTA would always assure me a job. Not true, when you've got Pinkertons, Burns and Securitas on your case every-time you apply telling people dirt.

In small caps put thier name with a period between first and last and put @securitasinc.com, example: [email protected] ===================== 2007-07-11 21:34 Details provided by reporter I started with securitas in Tucson Arizona June 2006, working at the AFNI call center,I took over running this site in August. (One of thier toughest sites to work at/for)Eric Barfield was the account manager at the time. He told me I was to receive a $.50 raise in October or November. Then they switch account managers to Austin Crane. Eric told me to just have Austin talk to him about what was stated to me about my raise. I did so, and Austin stated to me Eric Didn't promise me anything, BUT! he would see what he could do for me. So I waited and I waited, then I started to call the office from time to time in January, Austin stated to me he was waiting for AFNI 's corperate office to contact him via email, they had to approve my raise thats why I had not received it as of this time. So I waited and I called again, and again. Austin told me he put in for the rate hike for my raise and he should know something soon, this was the 5th of February. I asked him if Securitas themselves told me I was getting this raise not AFNI why was I in waiting for thier approval. He said he could not pay me if they would not approve it. So, They approved it now, this is now March, now 4 months. I called the Headquarters a few times and could not contact/ speak with anyone. April 16th I called and spoke to Lori of the HR Department, she said I needed to speak to Jen the scheduler she deals with rate hikes and pay situations. I left a messege that day and also on the 20th, the 23rd, 24th and the 25th. Without any return call I called back on the 26th of April at 3PM and was told every one had left the office per James the roving supervisor. Again on the 27th of April I phoned the office to speak with Jen and again left a messege. Austin Crane then called me and told me that I was being very unprofessional about all this, and I was not to call Jen again I was to call him and to bite the bullet until the moneys came in for the account for AFNI. On April 30th Austin Crane called me at the site and told me he should know something by May 5th. On May 7th he phoned me again at the site and said he put in for my raise to Jen in HR of $.75 an hour, putting me up to $10.00 an hour to be prorated from November 12th 2006. And I should have a check at the office the next pay day. He stated to me at that time, he would approve me being payed from November 12th 2006 to Feburary 04th 2007 when he put in for the rate hike, at the rate of $.50 an hour including overtime, which Eric had stated at the time I started as site supervisor. Also From February 4th 2007 to May 4th 2007 he would approve the pay rate of $.75. The next payday came and I got a $315.00 check before taxes for around 1040 hrs of back pay? I feel waiting this long for my raise. I should have been payed $.75 an hour plus o/t for all the hrs. but was waiting on a second check for the rest at $.75, from february 5th 2007 to May 3rd 2007 and have never received it as of this date July 11th 2007. I have all the paperwork from Jen in scheduling who takes care of payroll of what Austin did approve. Which ended up only being $.50 per hour leaving out from January 5th to March 8th. Now by thier calculation of hours and what Austin told me I was getting they still owe me a total of around $355.90, by my calculations. If I do end up having to take them to court for my money I will sue for the full $.75 an hour for my back pay. I have everything documented in a journal. I am now in the process of tranferring to the Erie, Pa Branch and would like my funds deposited to my account where my paychecks are being direct deposited to. (Or mailed to my address which I have removed.) Are you an employee of Securitas: No I supervised the AFNI site in Tucson for almost a year 07/12/07 is my last day. 2007-07-18 11:23 Details provided by reporter Hello, I am stating I am not Ending employment with securitas, I am Tranfering to Erie, PA. I will be leaving Tucson on July 20th and arriving around the 23rd or 24th of July. I as of Wednesday July 18th, 2007 have not received a response to this filing. Please contact me at 520-869-9510 if you are not able to conatct me at my home number. 2007-08-02 22:21 Details provided by reporter YES! I AM NOW IN ERIE LIVING AT (address and phone number has been removed). I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE ABOUT THIS SITUATION. I WILL FILE A NEW REPORT ON MONDAY THE 6TH OF AUGUST CONCERNING THIS MATTER, IF I DO NOT HEAR FROM THE COMPANY. I HEARD NOTHING ON THIS CLAIM AT ALL SO I FILED A CLAIM ON BOTH SITUATION. TO FOLLOW HERE SOON REMEMBER: A way to contact them and let them have it back is. In small caps put thier name with a period between first and last and put @securitasinc.com, example: [email protected] ======================== 2007-08-08 09:40 Details provided by reporter In reference to Report SUSA-07-07-0102 Lori the of Benefits Called me at 6:45 PM on the 13th, but filed on the report on the 12th. See told me she was looking further into the situation after she called, but wrote I did not call the Aetna insurance office, I called the wrong number. I called that same number after speaking with her, and they told me we (the dentist office and I) were in fact calling the right number. I had no benefits until June 21st when I called and funds were taken out of my check for dental coverage. A total of $120. They stated in the report I terminated employment when In fact I asked to be transfered to Erie, PA. So they terminated my employment? They also stated this was a miscommunication, I think not. They, Lori told me SRC said I lied and did not contact them when in fact I did and my dentist office did on June 13th. In reference to Report SUSA-07-07-0113 Austin Crain of the tucson, Arizona branch of Securitas USA told me I would receive my back pay from November 12th 2006 to May 7th 2007. From Nov. 12th to Feb. 4th I would receive $.50 per hr. and from Feb. 4th to May 7th $.75 per hr. For a total of 1040 hours I received a check for $315.00 before taxes. And he left out January and February as if I did not work these months? This is not right. I spoke with Jen Andensen, the scheduler who deals with the pay input, She told me this is what Austin Crain approved for me to be payed. I asked for and received this documentation from her at that time. I tryed to contact The Branch Manager Kevin Kett and Got no response. Sabrina the receptionist said he is out for the day of out of the office for the day. I have transfer to Erie, PA. at this time but there is no work. I am going to the unemployment office at this time. 2007-08-17 15:51 Response provided by the organization Mr. Carter is thanked for contacting the AlertLine. Felecia Clarke responding. I have reviewed your claims with Branch Manager Austin Crane and Eric Barfield. In October 2006 you informed Mr. Crain of a conversation that you had with Account Manager Eric Barfield regarding site wages. You alleged that Mr. Barfield had promised that you would receive a pay raise after ninety days. According to Mr. Barfield, this raise was discussed but never promised. Mr. Crain then spoke with you and explained the situation - that there were old supervisory pay rates that appeared on a pricing template enclosed within old Pinkerton files but that the Client had never used those payrates in compensating Supervisors. According to Mr. Crain you acknowledged that you understood that your pay rate wwas based upon contracted rates. Mr. Crain stated that he would look into a pay raise and see what he could do based upon the contract. After 6 weeks of working with the client, Mr. Crain found that the Client would not use any additional rates except for the Supervisor I rate of 9.25/hour which you were being paid, since the rates were not in a signed contract. Mr. Crain explained this to you during the December holidays in 2006. He also explained to you that he was willing to offer you alternative contract sites that paid the Supervisor II rate ($9.75) or higher. Mr. Crain informed you that he would be submitting a rate increase request in February and that you could remain at the property at your current rate or switch properties in search of more money. You elected to remain where you were. An agreement between Securitas and the Client was finally made on 05/11/07 to raise the Supervisor's pay rate to $10/hour. From that point forward, until you left to relocate to Pennsylvania, you were paid that rate. During the extended period of wait between February 13(when the request for wage increase was submitted) and May 11 (when it was apparoved)Mr. Crain and you were in very regular contact (at least once a week during much of this time). Mr. Crain recalls that you were upset by the delay. He attempted to keep you informed with every update and communication that he was having with his client contact furing this process. Sometime after the new rate took effect you submitted a payroll descrepancy form claiming that you were owed the difference between $9.25 and $10.00 per hour since October or November. Mr. Crain contacted you and reminded you of our earlier conversations (the option of switching properties for more money and the fact that the client would not recognize the rate increase in November 2006 and the conversations surrounding the February 2007 rate increase request). He also, correctly, informed you at that time that Securitas did not owe you any further amount but that he would consider the situation and attempt a fair reward for your efforts during this time period. Even though Securitas owed you nothing, Mr. Austin Crain agreed to: (1) 11/12/06 and 01/01/07 - selected as the period between when a raise could have been approved by the client, but was not, and the time when Mr. Crain informed you that the client had denied the use of any other rate than that which was being paid and that you would have to elect to remain with the Client at the current rate or could choose to switch properties for more money; and (2) give you the difference between $9.25 and $9.75 ($.50) for the time period of March 14 and May 10, 07 because Mr. Crain had informed you, during one of your many conversations while awaiting the contract renewal, that one month was a reasonable amount of time to wait on the contract renewal. Mr. Crain felt that you had waited a long time for the increase and had performed admirably during that time. Thank you again for your call to the Alertline. We now consider this matter to be closed and wish you luck in your future endeavors. 2007-08-18 16:40 Details provided by reporter UMM THATS NOT THE WAY IT WENT. SO YOU AS SECURITAS THEM SELVES ARE OF NO HELP. THEY LIED ABOUT MY BENEFITS AND ALSO ABOUT THE ORDEAL WITH MY BACK PAY. SECURITAS SAID I WAS TO GET A RAISE NOT THE SITE WHICH I WORKED AT. NO I WAS NOT PROMISE A THING FROM ANYONE, BUT WHEN YOUR ACCOUNT MANAGER TELLS YOU SOMETHING I DID NOT THINK WE (ALL EMPLOYEES) HAD TO GET IT IN WRITTING. FURTHERMORE AUSTIN CRANE DID NOT TELL ME IN DECEMBER TO TRANSFER HE TOLD ME AFTER HE PAID ME THE LITTLE BIT OF FUNDS WHICH HE DID IN MAY. I GUESS MY FIRST MISTAKE WAS THINKING THEY FOLLOWED ONE OF THE COMPANIES MAIN POLICIES AND MOTOS OF "INTEGRITY". WHAT AN EMBARASSMENT IT WAS TO BRING MY GOOD WORK ETHICS TO SUCH A COMPANY. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY ARE A WORLD WIDE COMPANY. I GUESS MONEY TALKS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME MS. Felecia Clarke THERE WAS NEVER A SOLUTION PUT ON THE TABLE TO RESOLVE THIS MATTER AND, I FOUND THIS WEBSITE AND AM POST IT HERE FOR ALL TO READ. ONCE I EMAIL THE COMPANY I WORKED FOR AND EVERYONE ON MY EMAIL LIST TO READ THIS I WILL EMAIL OR CALL THE COMPANY TO LET THEM GO READ UP ON ALL THE COMPLAINTS I FOUND HERE AT WWW.RIPOFFREPORT.COM . NOW I SEE AUSTIN CRAIN PLAYING AS THE BRANCH MANAGER, WHEN IN FACT IT IS KEVIN KETT WHOM I HAVE NEVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF SPEAKING WITH. I HAVE TO COMMENT THAT I DO LOVE THE UP- STANDING PEOPLE RUNNING THIS COMPANY AND IN FACT THE GREAT PEOPLE AT THE ALERTLINE (WHICH WAS AND IS OF NO HELP WITH COMPANY COMPLAINTS) DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS WAY OF DEALING WITH THINGS, LIKE THEY SAY ON TV! IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A CASE TAKE THEM TO COURT. REMEMBER: A way to contact them and let them have it back is.
