Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company is the worst. They charge the dealership fees for financing a customer. That might be OK except for the fact that the customer pays the fees in their contract. For example book value on a car is $9,300.00 they will tell the dealer to charge $11,754.00 for the car in order to get a check for book value. They prey on young military personnel because they are usually inexperienced when it comes to financing.

Also because they are usually far from home for the first time. They charge the customer ridiculously high interest rates/fees, and leave it up to the dealerships to take the blame for their unfair business tactics. The dealership can buy the rate down online, and the customer ends up paying more for the car. I.E. If they have a 17% interest rate and the sales price is $12,000 (already way too high), then they can make the interest rate 7.99%, and the sell the car for $13,000, and the dealership still only gets a check for book value.

Hmmmmm. The customer is oblivious to this, because most of the customers they target are between the ages of 18-21 years old, have never been away from home, and have no knowledge of what they are doing. We are talking about active duty military personnel that are just getting started with their careers defending this country.

Active duty military personnel that sometimes have absolutely no credit, and start their credit history with Security National Automotive Acceptance Corporation in the wrong way. SNAAC is quick, painless, and almost always requires no money down, therefore appealing to young enlisted personnel that sometimes only make between 900-1100 dollars a month before taxes. SNAAC is a straight rip off to our men and women in the armed services. BEWARE!

Tips To Avoid Them

If you are delinquent 1 day your account goes to the collections department.  Collectors will try to call you, your spouse, friends and family to get you on the phone.  Of course it is important that they reach you so that you make good on your contract, but they take it to the next extreme.  If they don't get you on the phone after day 1 of being late they try to contact your FSGT/CO/XO whom ever they can get on the phone to talk to about your personal finances.

Do they have a right to do this?  Well technically yes because they are 1st party collections. They use the ethos of our Armed Forces as a way to guilt a debtor to pay.  Most of their training as collectors is learning military terminology so that they can properly navigate through the chain of command to the person who will make life worst for a debtor.

If you have exited the military and are now a civilian, you should know that they cannot speak to your employer or anyone other than you and your spouse about the debt. Keep that in mind because you are protected by the FDCPA.

Tip 1 Educate yourself on the FDCPA laws.  You can find them on the FTC.gov website. Every violation is equivalent to a $1000 fine.  You could sue them for violations and end up having them pay you for wrongful collections practices.

Tip 2 Remove your personal identification from your personal phone numbers.  When they do call take the call and tell them you don't know the person they are asking for and to please stop calling your phone.  To make it better have an elderly person call from your phone (they have caller id) and tell them to stop calling this number they don't know you. Be prepared they only have one location in Mason Ohio, but they have different area codes near bases all over the country to throw people off.

Tip 3 Make your social network pages completely private from anyone other than your friends to see your personal information and wall posts.  Make it impossible for them to find you!  They use that information you post against you. Don't add people you don't know or aren't sure of.  Their skip tracers make fake facebook pages with pictures of soldiers on the front to make you think you might have served with them or something so that you will add them (then they have access to your wall and personal info listed).

Tip 4 Prepare your friends and family in a discrete way.  They don't have to know your in debt, but you can tell them that someone is calling around pretending to be verifying an application for you and they are using the information to harm your credit.  That way when someone calls your friends and family asking questions about you they get that stranger danger feeling and tell the person nothing.

If you are in debt tell your chain of command before your creditors do and seek their advice.  This way the news isn't so bad if someone contacts them, meaning the punishment is less severe if at all.

If you are 50 days delinquent they will begin looking for your vehicle to repossess.  They are very sneaky about it.  Lock the car in a garage somewhere that's not at your house and bum rides with your friends until you can pay your account current.

Hope this info and tips help!

YOU CAN STOP YOUR ALLOTMENT!!

I too have worked for this company and had many sleepless nights due to company practices. I was a lead in the customer service department and wrongfully terminated which has left me with no means to support my family. The truth is.. I sleep MUCH better now and my family is proud I stood up for my values.

My job was to find out where customer's lived so that when they were late on payments we had ways and means to contact them. The target customer are young military that have no idea about financial matters. These customers are set up to have the payments taken right out of their military pay prior to even seeing it so the risk is slim they will not get paid. PLEASE KNOW you CAN stop your allotment to SNAAC anytime you want to! You do NOT have to direct payments through your bank either. There is a group of employees that will call if you stop your allotment, will offer to help you restart your allotment and will harass you until you do. Employees are or were given incentive payment on every person they set up on allotment or automatic bank payments.

Customers would call in and we would see errors or problems with their accounts. We were told that unless they asked about them, we were not suppose to mention it. We were not customer service and the care and concern for customers was non-existent. I was asked one time if I was on the side of management or was one of "them" meaning the employees. I always thought they were suppose to be the same team.

Someone really needs to investigate the business practices of this company, and it's  treatment of our young men and women fighting for our country as they deserve more.

JIM, YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT.

Here are direct quotes from "Jim" who feels the need to stick up for a company I have proof operated unethically while I was there:

"Financing someone with no credit or bad credit is a huge risk. That's why the interest rate is high. Nothing illegal, immoral or unethical about this."

Right Jim, but what about a company that operates under the GUISE of a moral or ethical company??  SNAAC did not enforce collection laws for their recovery collectors for NINE YEARS.  They didn't even begin to do so until AFTER a class action attorney threatened a lawsuit in 2009!  What do you say to that?  How can you defend that?

"If the car is junk or has problems, thats a matter between you and the dealer. The finance company ONLY does the financing."

WRONG!  The finance company chooses which dealers it will and does not do business with.  It can fire any dealer at any time.  While I worked there, there were many shady dealers that SNAAC continued to do business with.  Why? For profit.  Why not fire them?  Because the money goes somewhere else.  Less profit.

"You talk about young people and I quote you directly..."have no knowledge of what they are doing". Hey, its a big world out there. If you don't know what you are doing, there are plenty of places to get information and people to go to for help."

I'll tell you what would be moral or ethical.  For SNAAC to educate its own customers!  Think they do?  Nope, they only take their money.  They could, if they wanted to, open up communications with the Judge Advocate's General and develop a program to educate these high interest/risk customers.  They don't.  Why?

Lets see, its women, minorities, unwed mothers and on and on it goes.  Its never because somebody has BAD CREDIT because THEY DID IT TO THEMSELVES!

Financing someone with no credit or bad credit is a huge risk.  That's why the interest rate is high.  Nothing illegal, immoral or unethical about this.  If you don't like the idea of a company making profit, then ask the Red Cross to finance you or better yet, move to a communist country.

If the car is junk or has problems, thats a matter between you and the dealer.  The finance company ONLY does the financing.

When you are sitting down to sign the papers, common sense dictates you should read what you are signing BEFORE you sign them!  If during your reading you don't like the price, the interest rate or any other terms, common sense dictates you DON'T SIGN the contract!

You talk about young people and I quote you directly..."have no knowledge of what they are doing".  Hey, its a big world out there.  If you don't know what you are doing, there are plenty of places to get information and people to go to for help.  Signing contracts and then using the excuse of lack of knowledge is pure B. S.  If you don't know or understand the contract, then DON'T SIGN IT!  Nobody puts a gun to your head.

And no pal, I don't work for them!

SNAAC'S REBUTTAL TO THIS SOLDIER IS MORE CORPORATE BULL AND HERE'S WHY:

The author of this "rebuttal", was someone I most likely worked with at "snaac" and for sure, it's loaded with the same corporate BS they feed you and their employees.  The claim that "most of the challenges soldiers have comes from the dealership which they cannot help or control" is BOGUS.

SNAAC can FIRE any dealership they want to.  But, we all know they get YOUR money through the dealership and care about that FAR MORE than your satisfaction as a customer so that probably won't actually happen will it?

Take from me, a recently seperated member of snaac management:  DONT DO BUSINESS WITH SNAAC BECAUSE YOU WILL GET JACKED!

we completely understand ! we are currently in litigation against this company.they financed a flood vehicle (since confirmed by coast to coast inspections) refused settlement when truck fell apart from undercoating hidden rust 2 months after purchase.  they show up in court with 2 lawyers and lowball the justice to throw out a plaintiff! SNAAC garnished our wages and even sent dfas (military pay) a letter to say final payment had been received but proceeded to issue another garnishment with intent to add interest on thew interest , hence turning it into a revolving account. i won't reveal details as our attorney is trying to overturn this gross negligence! thank you.
