Jeannette Hammond offered me a at home job for customer service @ $17/hr full time.  There was an actual "Career Builder" type ad that was enclosed with the email.  Said that I would go through 2 phone interviews and I did 312-380-0738 (which is Chicago).  The first one was through a computer generated voice and I kept asking if I was talking to a human; with a yes response.  The second was a woman.  I supposedly passed them and was sent a 5 page packet that explained what my job consisted of.  The first part was what I was told:  Answering phones (customer service type), but the second part if the part that disturbed me.    It said that I would be brokering money and sending it overseas.  I looked up the company and they have a lot of stuff on the internet saying that they were a real estate investment firm in Larnaca Cyprus that has an office in Chicago, but its just the phone number that called me.  They have a very fancy website too.  I wrote to Jeannette 3 times asking her:

I received your paperwork, but have a couple of question.

I was under the impression that this was a customer service-type position but it says
brokering to send money overseas.  Don't you have to have a license to do that?

I have no problem being your customer service representative, but if there was
money to be sent overseas; you will probably provide a confirmation from the
person originating the transfer, that its ok to send it, right?

I really want the position as long as I don't do anything that would be considered
illegal.

Please confirm and I will forward my application.

No response.  I called the 312 number and the recording was this computer generated voice again.

So then I contacted Career Builder and they responded with:

Frederick,

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you. I am committed to partnering in your success! I apologize for any inconvenience, but the email in question was not sent through the CareerBuilder.com website. The company shown on this email has improperly used the CareerBuilder.com name to add legitimacy to an unidentifiable opportunity. We suggest that you delete the email you received and disregard any further correspondence you receive of this type in the future.

All I can say is thank God I didn't fill out the paperwork.  On one of the pages it says that you will never bring charges against them.  Makes you wonder what they have to hide.

Do not accept any employment offers from this company?  It would appear that they are a fraud.
