Like others who have reported on this company, I too, have experienced first hand their deceptive practices. I responded to an email offer for a free trial offer. I even have an email from them stating that my free trial is on the way. I believe myself to be a pretty savvy consumer, and when I am offered a free trial of a product that I think that I can use, I will give it a try. However, knowing that there is nothing in this world that is 'free' I checked out the web site out pretty closely before I submitted my name and address for the free sample. When it arrived, I was shocked to see that invoice in it for almost $200.00.

Well I knew that I didn't order that much, and definetly didn't order $200.00's worth, so I determined NOT to pay for it. I was contacted by the company many times and each time I told them that I would gladly send it back to them if they would pay the shipping costs due to the fact that I did not order a full order - only a trial sample.

This has been going on since mid-October 2002!

Now they have sent it to a collection agency called MAD Agency. (How ironic) Naturally, they want the $200.00, but I am not going to be buffaloed into paying them either.

If a company wants to send a trial sample, doesn't it seem that that is what it should be? Deceptive practices are not going to be rewarded.

The whole box (not one particle was used) is still sitting in my bathroom storage area just waiting for the day that it can be reunited with the other boxes of this stuff that was shipped out to other unsuspecting consumers by this exceedingly deceptive company.

So, Septicare, here is my offer to you again: Send me a Return Authorization with your pre-paid shipping label, cancel my invoice, call off the collection agency, and you can have it all back toot-sweet!

When I took you up on your 'Trail Offer' in October 2002, your website did not clearly state that you would be shipping a full order. It did not state that I would be billed $$$, it did clearly say that I would be receiving a trial offer and that is what I agreed to - nothing more - nothing less.

So, Septicare I bid you adieu. I bid MAD Collection Agency adieu. I have a box of your stuff you can have back if you want it, all you have to do is pay for the shipping and rip up my invoice.

OUR SIDE OF THE STORY

This is totally unfair. Our offering in 2004 was straightforward. We offered a 30 day trial of Septicare, with no money paid upfront. The thought behind that was, we enclosed instructions for a test that proved the efficacy of Septicare, and, if after conducting the test, you still didn't like it you could return the product for full credit. If you didn't return it you were, of course, expected to pay for it. Unfortunately, we ran into a problem with our offering. We ended up losing tens of thousands of dollars from trial shipments made that were never returned or paid for. For this reason we discontinued the no money up front trial offer. We still do offer a 30 day trial, but do charge the customer. If the customer returns the product a full refund is provided, no questions asked. I hope this clears up the matter, and ask anyone who has any questions to contact me at [email protected] and they will receive a prompt reply.
