I first saw this opportunity on Shawn Casey's Mining Gold website. It was the chance to work with "him" and be coached about making money on the internet. I called, and was quoted an unreasonable price (it was for me, anyway). I told the phone rep that I was raising 4 kids and that there was no way I could afford that, but thanks for the information.

He kept me on the line and came back with a one time fee of $900 (for software and training manuals) with monthly fees of $49.95 for access to their website. I agreed (because of greed) and essentially signed on the dotted line. One of the promises made was that they would help me pick out a product to sell, find my niche, and get me going.

I called a mentor, as required, and got the infamous advice, "When you pick out a product, call back". Big help. On this website, which I am supposed to regularly visit, there are a selection of 5 or 6 books that you can download. Two of these related to online business, while the others were about real estate and the stock market.

I've been paying the $49.95/month for 4 or 5 months now, and it is becoming a burden. I called their customer service line because you cannot email a problem to them. The "contact us" button on the web page gives the 800 number.

When I tried to cancel the "membership" I was told that I had made a verbal commitment to call a mentor 4 times a month and dedicate 20 hours a week to my business. I dedicate a heck of a lot more time to the business than 20 hours a week, but the mentoring part of the equation is handed off to employees who probably never made a dime in internet marketing anyway. The blind leading the blind comes to mind.

I was not allowed to have the membership cancelled and am continuing to pay the money on a monthly basis that could go to food and clothes or even toys for the kids. Anyway, the money could be much better spent, but I'm stuck lining the pockets of Shawn Casey and his 'Wealth Building Team'.

Congratulations, Shawn, you've made an eternal fan out of me.

Just received a telemarketing call from Shawn Casey's firm

Just before 9pm, I received a telemarketing call from Shawn Casey's firm, under the name of Aaron Lane 1-801-371-0755 according to my caller ID. He was very persistent and kept me on the phone for about 1/2 an hour, talking about their mentoring program and asked me to look over their website - prosperlearning.com. He talked about getting "accepted into their program." I asked him how much this is going to cost but he wouldn't give me any dollar figures. He eventually concluded the conversation and said he would email me more information and get back with me later if I am accepted into their program. The funny thing is he asked me to look up Shawn Casey on the BBB, but the BBB returned no results, so I tried a google search for "Shawn Casey complaints" and found this.
