I was employed by Shoalwater Tribal Medical Clinic in May of 2000. I was hassled by the clinic director, I filed a complaint. The clinic Director was later released from her position and they hired her best friend who happened to be the Mother of the receptionist I worked with.

I worked at a Medical Records clerk. The receptionist wanted my job, and I started finding her changing my charts and adding papers to the charts. I reported it but it fell on deaf ears. Anyway in the meantime I was convinced by some of my co-workers to try the new chiropractor they hired at the clinic, I did. I ended up not being able to walk too well and had back trouble ever since he popped my hip and lower back.

My physician put me on pain killers and other medications that made me very drowsy it was hard to focus and I was always in pain. I was later fired in 2002 because they said I made too many mistakes, then they cut my medical privilages off (I am native american too) and they would not pay for my Rx's that I needed for pain.

I ended up having back surgery in 2003 where they removed 3 bulging disc's in my lower back. I now have two rods and pins in my lower back. No lawyer would touch my case because shoalwater was a federally recognized tribe. I tried to get some legal help before two years ended, but NO lawyer woud touch it.

Now I am stuck with the back problems and the expense of medications as well as unable to work like I use to. They use us as a head count to get the money they needed from the Federal government to get this clinic and I know they pay for the Rx's for their people who live off the reservation, some of them are my friends and they told me they get their medical needs taken care of.

I feel that I have been so wrongfully mistreated and they are prejudice. They claim they are an equal opp. employer and open to the public, not just native people, so why wouldn't they be liable?
