Complaint Review: Sibers Home Cattery - Internet

I would like to make known that I have been mislead and mistreated by the promise of a breeder by the name of Mary Belpalme from SIBERS HOME of Thailand. I am here to share my experienced and not to harm/hurt/offend her and her cattery but only to seek answers and assurance.

On March 26th, I have contacted Mary for her Siberian kitten which was due in 2 weeks which would be a golden Siberian. According to her is rare and expensive which I later agreed to adopt a kitten from her.

History 1: Prior to agreeing, I have also contacted several others to see my options but I was taken aback coz Mary wasn't happy with me looking around even before me agreeing to adopt from the cattery. On May 5th/6th, I signed a contract with Sibers Home ( Mary Belpalme ) for a male mackerel golden kitten I named GIZMO CAESER. I made a deposit for my baby GIZMO and transferred the money to her account in France ( Euro 1100 and deposited of Euro 500 ).... He was adorable I must say, I do love animals especially cats.... She said it would be neutered and microchip... . ( please remember this ). She even got a little upset of me having other options with other breeders.

History 2: But the funny thing was, Mary couldn't decided which kitten to offer me, as she puts it, she wanted the best for me to show her cat and couldn't decide from these 2 kittens. I found this weird but hey, I went along with it coz all I wanted was my GIZMO (she provided pictures of Gizmo as she selected that one even if she was unsure) We signed an agreement for Gizmo.... As time gets longer she still couldn't give me an answer to which was to be mine. She said she wanted to get an opinion from a professional friends from Russia to give their comments on which is the better kitten.

I have made 2 trips to Bangkok to where she is based and breed her cats. I saw the mother of Gizmo, which was beautiful and seen for >the first time how GIZMO looks like as a baby.... And again I was there 2 months later, and then I realised that she is still uncertain about which kitten to offer me... I started becoming curious of her behaviour... Am I wrong to feel this way?? She lives in a bungalow, high walled, high gate and has dogs around the house.

On my second trip, I purchased a cube tree house from her and bought her 2 bags of cat food as she said that her cat food was almost finishing and that they don't have this brand there in Bangkok... I happily agreed to buy it, for her, as I wanted to assist her and she >said she will repay me for the purchases I made. She gave me good advice about cat food though and the brand to use for a Siberian.

I have taken notice that she was also travelling a lot ( in this short time she has made a trip to France, Hong Kong, France again, Hong Kong this coming week ) while claiming that in her contract that no cat/kitten are to be left alone for more than 3-4 hrs a day. But I do understand that we do need to work for a living. And she has her maid to look after her cats and kittens....

She then informed me that GIZMO will be my responsibility to neuter which was in the contract and I agreed.

History 4: During one of her trip, Mary told me that her maid accidently opens the door and allowed a male cat to mate for another time with GIZMO's mother which has just delivered 5 beautiful kittens. This scenario I find weird and again curious to the actual fact. And she started to persuade me to get another kitten from her and of the same mother. I kindly turned down the offer as earlier I had the budget for another but then I decided to upgrade my car. This wasn't taken nicely from Mary as she seems to me, like insisting me to take it from her by saying that in the contract a buyer should not allow the kitten/cat to be alone for more than 3-4 hrs a day. And she goes on her trips and gets her cat impregnated again???

History 5: During her second trip to France which was I think about 10 days or so.... I had this weird feeling that she will not have me adopt GIZMO due to the fact that I am not adopting another sibi from her.... This was just my assumption.. . But then...

She send me an email dated on Aug 6th.... saying there's a very bad >news.... read below:

Hello Ismail, Back yesterday evening from Europe. Very bad news ............ ......... ........ The maid did not control the cats so Bugatti, Datcha, Clooney, Gizmo escaped throught the roof. Datcha went back with a broken leg as she looked falling down from the roof. Clooney was running downstairs in the garden and the maid did catch him. But Bugatti and Gizmo disappeared. No news from them at the moment. Today, I put flyers in all mail boxes in the soi./

I will copy pictures of them and put also in mail boxes even in the closed sois of the house. I am totally devastated. In the worse case senario, if no news from them, you can choose in my friends 2 litters, the kitten you would like to get. I have no golden kitty available at the moment. My friend has no golden but great black silver, nice red boy and some good brown. I saw all kitties when I was in France. And they are of course cheaper than golden. But for the time being, I am still looking after both cats and where they could be. I am not surprised that Gizmo escaped with Bugatti as they are good mates. Bugatti is a terrible hunter, when there is a small hole somewhere in the fence, Bugatti finds it and tries to run away . I am not very surprise that Gizmo might follow her in the >adventure. What do you really think of the above?? Am I wrong to doubt her?? Why was she doing this to me?? We continued sending each other emails.... I was devastated and disappointed with feeling really down coz I have been nice and following whatever she required of me... She lives in a bungalow, high walled and gated... cats jumping off the roof?? Weird... but could be true... Only she and god know the truth...

History 6: The drama continues when she said she has drop flyers surrounding her housing area. She continued saying that the thief's might capture them and sell them at the market in Bangkok. I offered to fly down immediately and look for GIZMO at the market but she later changes her story and said that if the neighbours finds them they will keep it for themselves.. .. Weird story isn't it??? I asked her for the flyers and she provide me with one and she said it's a quick preparation for distribution. And I soon realised that the >kitten on the picture/flyer doesn't look like GIZMO, similar yes but am sure it's not...... Pictures on the flyer don't seem to justify the missing cats..

During this time she mentioned that she has microchip them already. And I am really happy to know that but I asked her which company did she use?? Was it AVID and she replied Bugatti has Bayer and she couldn't remember GIZMO's... which she said she did it on the 23rd July before she left for France but I remember clearly she never microchip her kittens she said... funny coz she is a woman who is sure of herself and not to remember the company got me more curious and think that there is something not right here.... Am I not right to ask her the microchip company's name?? This is for my assurance and to clear my mind which I explained to her but she rejected my question and retaliate by saying it's not my right and it's not my kitten.

After all that has happened, I decided to terminate the contract and not wanting to have a kitten from the latest litter in exchange. I was upset and decided to just get my deposit back.

History 7: In the mean time, she also mentioned in her email that she has asked the Board of Members of CFA to clarify this issue and again she mentioned the above, return the deposit or get the next one... Which I agree as I don't know these things and she has a breeder knows better.... To have my mind clear of any doubt I asked her the names of the members she spoke to for my own references and she again wasn't happy about these questions... Am I wrong again to >ask?? Ismail, 1) We have a contractual agreement 2) I cannot comply beacuse the kitten has escaped and disappeared. 3) My only obligation is to return your deposit 4) Besides giving me your banking coordonates to return your deposit, you have no right at all to attempt to interfere with informations that are confidential as long as the kitten's ownership has not been transfered. 5) Your status is clear, you are not the owner of the kitten and >will not be one of my breeding stock as well. You do not have the right to get further infos about this kitten and other kittens/cats 6) Except your compliance with 4) above, no further message of yours will be considered/answered Regards Mary

Today, the deposit was returned but not the full amount. And I wonder, if the buyers to pay for the transfer fees, so does the breeder having to transfer the deposit back in full. Am I not right??? And she claimed that i didn't pay for the tree house and she called me "a beggar and this is how i do my business"... I was merely asking her to remember that I paid her in the kitchen while I was there in cash.... I was now in tears and so so upset at how a person could be so horrible.... I insisted for her not to refund me >the cost of the tree house after she called me names.... Beggar, >Uneducated, impolite and lots more... well, in return I called her cheapo, horrible and not honest in her business dealings....

My final closure is not once in her emails she apologizes for her wrong doing and not even admitted that she has neglected the cats and my baby GIZMO. Even so, I may not even know the truth coz she refuses to just give me that assurance and trust that I have given her. And knowingly that I am travelling this weekend to see her and she refuses to meet me and claimed that she will be away again to Hong Kong which I am sure she makes her plans much earlier and she is probably avoiding me.... I knew now, she has never planned to let me adopt a kitten from her... She changes her mind and she is the only one who knows it....

This is what a reputable and honest breeder she claimed to be??? I am a nice person and did everything I can to please her only for my baby GIZMO and I am so sad with how things went and without any sense of guilt she doesn't even care about me as a buyer, she should be apologetic, kind, trustworthy, honest and most of all, responsible towards her cats and kittens... Which i believe she is not at all... CFA/TICA should look into this matter and hopefully am able to get an apology and action taken against her..... I would appreciate it if you could assist me in this matter.... hope fully i receive some feedback from you... thank you... regards, ismail
