In June of '03 I purchased Signet's extended warranty, but never used it. Under the contract terms I applied for a refund in June of '10. My contract states that a refund will be mailed "within 60 days following all necessary verification and receipt of all required documentation." This is misleading. They had all of my require documents (a process by itself because of them) in August. What they don't tell you is that they can as much time as they want to verify them. After many phone calls and messages, I learn at the end of October that everything has been verified and approved. My refund will be sent out on Dec. 31st (the 60 days). A bit into June, no check has arrived. I call. Carrie (their customer service rep) tells me it was mailed out on Jan. 3rd - WAIT isn't this AFTER my 60 days and not within???? There should have been plenty of time to receive the check if in fact it had been mailed. She asks me to wait a few more days. On Jan. 17th I call her back. We play phone message tag. She leaves a message that she emailed the accounting dept. to issue another check and they will call me when they mail it.

I check out the web. It seems that quite a few people say that SFG claims they sent a check, but people never really got it and they have to "reissue" it. Sounds fishy to me that they are just trying to delay sending the money. If this is true, and I really feel it is, then they are in direct violation to the terms of the contract - even more!

I call Carrie back on Jan. 26th - no check yet. She said accounting hasn't sent it to me yet and they'd call me when they do. I am angry now, but keep my cool. I tell her this sounds kind of fishy. She transfers me to the "Head of Accounting" - Gregg Lieman. He is, of course, out of the office for many days. I have called him and left him a message every day he has been out. He supposedly is back today, but never returned my calls. I called today, and he left the office - I just missed him by 10 minutes.

Okay, today is Jan. 29th. I was approved for a refund and it should have been mailed way before today's date. They are putting people through unreasonable processes and time frames trying to keep peoples' money. I am well into 7 months with them trying to get the refund to happen.
