Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We were offered a "free" cruise and airline tickets for two.  We actually received our vouchers for the cruise, but when we called to finalize our booking, the free cruise cost more than booking directly with the cruise line.

We asked for an upgrade and they told us it would cost $350 per person, when it was only $200 when booked through the cruise line (Norweigen).

The cruise itself cot more than the price online for the same Norweigen cruise.

When we told the booking agent that we were told the cruise and flight were free, but subect to taxes and port fees she said nowhere did it say "free".  It did say we would "recieve' a cruise.  It also said we were to pay port fees and taxes, and personel expenses.  It would seem to anyone it would be free.

We did not get to the "free" flight, the price of which would be harder to determine than the cruise.

In 2008 I lived in PA and got a similar offer from Global Travel in NJ.  I actually bought a membership from this company.  I was offered for two free airline tickets  (for two, with two destinations.)  They said I did not qualify because I did not fill the form out complely.  ie: it asked where I was empolyed and I said retired, then it asked for my work phone # and I left it blank, NO EMPLOYER NO NUMBER, it seemed to be a no brainer.

I never used my membership because I was afraid I would pay for a vacation, and then never get it.  From what I have read on this site, it is a common complaint.  Smart travel said Global got a lot of complaints.  These company's must all be one and the same.

My advice is, don't go to their presentation in the first place.

Hey, this is supposed to backed by the government, under realestate laws, just like time shares.  Where is the government protection?  How do these people stay in business?  They are all scamers.

Scams seem to get much worse when the economy is bad.  Shame, shame.

We were looking at Norweign.  The word "free" may not have been spelled out on the postcard, but it was implied.  Any reseasonable person, who speaks Engligh, would have translated, "YOU WILL RECEIVE" a curise,  and you  "have to pay (however) port fees and taxes,"  as you will receive a free cruise and all you have to pay for is ......ect.  Nowhere does it say you have to pay for the cruise in addition to the port fees, ect.  NOW I am interested in getting back my deposits. (for cruise and air travel)

Dear Mr. B.,

I'm sorry that you were so unhappy with the cruise offer you received. I certainly never like to hear that. I would like to point out that our vouchers are not for free travel and do not state anywhere on them that they are. We also have no connection with Global Travel in, NJ.

The cruise voucher states you will be responsible for a $99.00 per person reservation processing fee, taxes and any necessary
surcharges. It also states that the voucher is only valid for a category 1A cabin.  I have looked at the offer that you were emailed on 9/20/12 and compared it to the current online rate and found we are saving you $252.00 now. Im not sure how much more we were saving you then, as cruise rates tend to drop the closer you are to the sailing date.  Im sure when you compared the cruise yourself that you probably just selected the Carnival fun saver rate and let them put you anywhere on the ship they could, but that is not a an accurate comparison to our quote. Our quote had you in a category 4E on the Empress deck which is much nice then the Rivera deck which is where a fun saver rates usually gets you. That is quite a cost difference. The quote I pulled up online is identical to the quote you were emailed and is saving you money.

The taxes are identical and even though you cannot see the port fees (non-commissionables), they are identical as well. The port fees (non-commissionables) are wrapped into the base fare of the cruise and consumers cannot see them, only travel agents can. As your voucher is valid only for a category 1A, and there were no 1As available, you were quoted on the next cheapest things, but were responsible for the cost difference between the two. Everything that was included in the quote was as it was stated it would be in the terms and conditions of your travel voucher. I will paste the quote below and also upload a screenshot of the Carnival Cruise quote.

I see from the notes on your file that you will be sending in a notice of cancellation for the cruise voucher. I just wanted to make sure you knew that those requests take 3-4 weeks to process from the date we receive them. Im sure the accounting
department will get your refund out as quickly as they can. Please let me know if i can be of any assistance to you or if you have any further questions regarding your file. My email is [email protected]
