on saturday feb 22 2014 i and a co worker went thru society hill from nc on hwy 52. when i reached the city limits i slowed to 35 and passed the unmarked black charger i knew about the speed trap so i knew to be cautious as i have been thru there many times being a truck driver. on the return trip i approached the left hand turn and had to just about stop because of on comimg traffic and there was a car right behind me there is a hill after you turn left so your car tries to gain speed my co
worker said there he is again and i touched my brakes lightly and looked at my speed and i was going 40 the charger pulled out and stopped myself and the car behind me. the officer who i later found out was police chief capers approached the cars and said 55 in a 35 and asked for license and registeration and wrote our tickets and said call this number and i will help you with points or the fine and it will not show up. the fine was 185.63 i called and he said if i paid 200.00 there would be no
points i have tried to call him back several times to get a more clear understanding of will it show anything on my license report or is this gonna be a dismissal or whatever i need to know since im a truck driver. i cannot get up with him and my time is running out. funny thing is a friend of mine went thru society sill the next monday and got stopped by the same officer and was told she was doing 57 in a 35 and he only gave her a warning ticket and i actually have seen the ticket yea im pissed cause i have went 15 years without a speeding ticket i guess im going to fight it

What exactly are you going to fight?
That you shouldn't have gotten a ticket for going 55 because a friend of yours only got a Warning for going 57? Yea..let us know how that goes.
Perhaps you are going to fight it on the basis that you weren't speeding because you had to "just about come to a stop" to make a turn. What's funny about this is that even though you were "almost stopped"..you admit that after you "touched" your brakes and you were still going FOURTY miles an hour. Which if your math isn't quite up to par is still 5 MPH over the 35MPH speed limit, and I think just about everyone would agree is far from being "almost stopped". No wonder Truck Drivers get a bad reputation.
Here is a thought, perhaps you got the ticket because the Officer saw your license and found out you were a Commercial Truck Driver and should know better about the rules of the road. Or perhaps you gave him the same story you posted here.
