I used this company previously to get a quick loan, quite some time has passed since I did this. Due to circumstances beyond my control I found myself needing to get some quick cash and did not want to create a debt in order to get the money. I went to Sonic's website and much to my surprise when I input my social security number and phone number I was still in their database.

All indications show that I was a customer in good standing and eligible to apply for a re-loan. I was told by one of the reps via the live chat that I could apply and the money would be deposited in several days into my bank account. After several days passed, thee was word from them, so I decided to go to the website and enter my social and phone number and it showed that $600 had been deposited the day before to my account. I immediately contacted them to question where they had deposited the money, because I had not provided them my bank info as of yet.

To make a long story short, they had used the old information they had previously without verifying and/or confirming this valuable information with me. I explained to them that they had deposited to an incorrect account and bank as well. I was immediately told that I would still be responsible for paying back the loan. I called the bank's customer service where Sonic Payday had erroneously deposited the funds and was told by them to have Sonic do a "reversal" in order to retrieve the money which had been sent in error and was now sitting in someone else's account.

I imeediately passed this important information on to Sonic, yet, since they are in the money business, I should not have had to do this. Evidently Sonic chose not to do a reversal and they continue to harrass me daily all day long at my job and home. They want me to provide them my current bank info, so that they can pull their money from me, which I never received.

They have gone so far as to send the following letter to my Payroll-Human Resources Department...See Below:

April 21, 2006

Since Sonic refuses to provide a physical location, where they can be contacted, what remedy do I have for their continual harrassment of me on my job and at home? They don't belong to the Better Business Bureau and it seems that their physical location is outside the USA, therefore, the Federal Trade Commission cannot intervene in this matter either.

The Bottom Line: I never received the money for which Sonic Payday is harrassing me. I informed them of their mistake the very next day after they are saying that they made the deposit, and I refuse to take responsibility for their errors, mistakes, and negligence.

Someone elses account?

Usually (and I am not sure about Sonic) when an account is re-activated, there is a screen where you would have to confirm if your employer and bank account information is still the same. If it is not, you are the one that has to notify them. then they confirm the new information provided. Was the bank account that the funds sent to in your name or someone else's name? If it was in your name, why does the bank not issue you a check? If is in someone elses name, you will probably need to go after them for the money. In either case, you still owe Sonic the money since you should have updated your information BEFORE applying for the loan. Good luck.
