Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
SouthCoast Energy Inc has no money and because they have no money the solar system that was put on my roof (that i paid off in full) has a lien on it. Therefore i have a lien on my home because they did not pay the company that they bought the panels from.

I did a background check on Walter the "President"... he has done business under an alias name, he has domestic violence charges and has been in jail at least 2 times. This is not someone that you want to trust! He is being sued by 18 different customers and a large main company.

His wife Sandy is completely incompetent and rude, has never had any helpful information and she is "suppose to be the production manager". And to be honest I'm not surprised they are married to each other. The blind leading the blind. I blame myself because i didn't do the research before i bought i solar system from them. Do yourself a favor and do your research. On a positive note: the only competent person I talked to after i purchased was Erin. And apparently she's not there anymore (good for her). This is a sad little company that should be shut down!!!

Walter Ellard has been nothing but a consumate professional in my experiences with him. He did the original install of my solar system in 2007 while working for a different company that has since left the area. Since starting his business he has taken great care of me and any issues I have had even though he had no responsibility or requirement to do so. I can not comment on the incident in the original report but I believe that Walter is a stand up guy with outstanding technical expertice and ethics. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase and have him install another system for me.

SouthCoast Energy turn of events.

In a great turn of events SouthCoast Energy has been placed in great standings by the court, on Tuesday 7-6-10 SouthCoast Energy won the court over by 9 to 1 the vender placing liens and lawsuits on SouthCoast Energy and their clients have been removed due to vender having falsified document, liens fueled to soon, in house thieft of solar equipment place on SouthCoast Energy's clients homes and business.

The vender for SouthCoast Energy is now under investigation for fraud, the businesses and clients that were present should proof to the courts by photos and documents that the vender hurased and threatened them.

SouthCoast Energy was in great spirits before the courts gave them the best fight they could possibly ask for.

Walter Ellard President of SouthCoast Energy said it's sad that my clients and friends had to go through this,  I had to close SouthCoast Energy in March of 2010 due to this problem, our vender froze our accounts and we had nothing to fallback on, everywhere we turned I was being lock in a closet or worse.

SunFusion Solar started up and I am back doing installs for them as director of installations.  SunFusion Solar is giving SouthCoast Energy's client the option of warranties through SunFusion Solar all they have to do is sign a new contract and pay $1.00 processing fee to make it legal.

Sofar over 90% have resigned and by the end of July we will have a 100% coverage.

Walter Ellard stated he lost everything due to what the vender did when the vender froze their accounts they did it the day before payroll, my wife and I had to take it from our personal side to pay the installers and the commission for our sales team.

It's been 8 months battling this and know we are finished.

The three companies in the lawsuit stated Walter and his team did a great job on the installation, fast professional installation, great sales staff, the microinverters are great cost per watt was $4.95 and they are monitoring the system for us maintance free for 25 years.  We each have agreed to give SunFusion Solar our other buildings by the end of 2010 we are just watching our system performance.

The home owners say they are happy with the work and performance of their systems, one client said Walter Ellard saved him thousands because they were going to sign from another solar company and they were over priced and was way under my electrical bill Walter should him how to calculate the bill on his own and that way he knew what he needed. The home owner signed that day system was installed a week later.

Sandy Ellard President of SunFusion Solar said that we are not SouthCoast Energy we have a different Contractors number, Business license, workers comp, insurance and different venders and we do thing differently here, we are selling our systems starting at $5.50 per watt residential roof mount and for our commercial roof mount we start at $4.95.  We assume the rebates for our clients to bring down costs we give great warranty options we carry three plans to extend them to a full 25 years.

We have had problems with this and we fixed most of the problems, I don't know who would say this when we are paying all liens that have been put on the homes, which were done prematurely.  We have installed over 500kW with no liens after this happend and we will continue to install lots more.  There are some hurt customers out their but they are all talking to us and we are taking this seriously, a lot of solar companies are making other solar companies have problems like this and creating hard times and we are floating above water, as of this point our systems are now paid  before they get to the customers homes, we don't put liens on homes nor do we use the company that did put the liens on the homes anymore.  As for the money, SouthCoast Energy is paying liens and clearing up messes from the vendor that put us in this position, I admit I was wrong and I am doing everything in my power to clear this companies name.  the vendor by all means is trying to tie my hands and put me in a locked closet to force me not to pay the liens.  If I was a bad person I would not be paying thousands back to the vendor and getting our installs done at the same time.  Also incorrect back ground checks and domestic violence charges are really nothing for me to be afraid of,  I never had any violent acts on any person or thing.  SouthCoast Energy is going to be and is the biggest solar installation company around San Diego and Southern California.

Going to the BBB which is regulated as well as the contractors state license board you can find out if a company is licensed boned and legal.

Thank you for reporting this it just makes me stronger.

God bless....
