I brought my 2000 Camaro into the dealership because the drivers side windshield wiper would not work properly on high. It would go off the windshield and make a loud clacking sound like it was fixing to fly off the vehicle. When I went to pick up the vehicle after the first time in the shop I was told that the mechanic had broken something on it, but they had fixed it,but there was another part that needed to be replaced and they would contact me when it was in.

The first time I tried the windshield wipers after that the problem was even worse. The windshield wiper went so far off the windshield that it was striking the drivers side window. I brought the vehicle back to them, and discovered that the mechanic had not noted that another part needed to be ordered. They then ordered a whole new windshield package and installed it. When I went to leave I tried the windshield wipers and it was still doing the same thing. I immediately backed up and returned to the service center. The mechanic stated that he had tried it out in the low cycle. I asked him why he hadn't tried the high cycle when it was clearly noted that was when the problem occurred. He had no reply! I had to leave again driving my vehicle with defective windshield wipers.

I brought the vehicle back again and they noticed that the longer you run the windshield wipers in high the further off the windshield it gets. They sent me away again saying they would contact the manufacturer technacial personnel to see if they had come across a simiular situation and they would contact me. I did not hear from them. I had to drive home last night in a sever storm and the windshield wippers did the same thing. I almost got into 3 wrecks on the way home.

I called first thing when I got to work the next day and they said bring it by the service center. When I got there they looked at my vehicle and told me that it would do not good to leave it since they could not fix it, and would contact the company service represenative and call me back. In the mean time I am driving a vehicle with defective equipment which could be caused by 2 separate reasons. The equipment was defective from the manufacture and that a part was broken beyond repair when they worked on my vehicle the first time.

In either case I have invested a lot of money in a vehicle that is not safe to operate on the highway. I, like everyone else, must have a vehicle to go back and forth to work. They will not give me a replacement vehicle to drive until they can determine if my vehicle can be fixed. If an accident does occurr the manufacturer and the dealership could be held liable.

I purchased my vehicle from Southern Chevrolet 5845 Coliseum Blvd, Alexandria, La 71303. There email address is www.southernchevrolet.com The sales person who sold me the vehicle is Pat Graves. Their phone number is 1-800-737-4521. Between my husband, my brother-in-law, and myself, we have purchased 7 vehicles with this dealership over the past 4 years. My first vehicle was a 1998 Chev c1500 and the front end went out and I traded it for this vehicle.

I would appreciate whatever help you could give me in this matter. I would also like to know if you know anything about the lemon law that applies to defective vehicles.

Sincerely,

Christine Savage Guillory

I have my own shop, and I am shocked to see you get this kind of service. If your vehicle is under warranty then goto another GM dealer. Hell if it is not under warranty go somewhere else. It would only take about an hour to fix and adjust the wipers go to a decent GM dealer for the repair
