Southern Circulation (now Veritas Communications) Con-artists, magazine subscriptions, change names Huntsville Alabama
I was a student at MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tn when a very pushy sales-girl made her way around my dorm trying to sell magazine subscriptions for a free trip with points, etc. This was around the later part of January.
Some of my friends had already bought from her down the hall, so I decided that it might actually be safe to order a subscription to a X-Box magazine.
After I paid, her attitude changed, and I had a lurking suspicion that I had been scammed.
I looked up the company name "Southern Circulation" (the name on the receipt) and saw that many people had not received their magazines... or refunds for that matter.
I was unable to get ahold of anyone at this company for a few days and by then they said there was nothing they could do (even though I paid via credit card) and that my magazines should arrive by late May or early June.
I have still not received any magazines from them and the website has been taken down.
After doing some diligent research for a documentary project I am working on, I stumbled upon Mrs. Fussell again running a new company called "Veritas Communications."
It's more than coincidence that this company has the same sloppily built website and offers the same information that Southern Circulation did, only changing their phone number and address.
I tried calling David Fussell to get a refund for magazines he and his wife failed to deliver from their last magazine selling endeavor and even tried to get some information about why Southern Circulation shut down.
He was openly hostile the entire time and hung up on me accusing me of lying when I told him how I got his phone number.... it was listed on his website and on a ripoffreport.com report. Why would a president be so hostile to a customer?
I keep hearing about people wanting to do a class action lawsuit, but these scammer people are hard to track down.
If I can't get my $40 dollars back, I'd like to at least keep other people from falling prey to these slick con-artists.
I'm currently working on a small documentary film project about the magazine con-artist industry. I wonder who the headliner will be?

Lets see how we can fix this. 1. I do own Veritas Communications,LLC. 2. I did talk to this individual on the phone. 3. I was ONCE involved with Southern Circulation,Inc(for a period of SIX weeks). 4. When I found out that my so-called partner(Howard Brock) was not clearing orders, I sold my shares of Southern Circulation,Inc)contract can be provided on request). 5. I was short and very confrontational with this individual, due to their tone of voice and accusations. 6. Veritas Communications, LLC is in NO way affiliated or associated with Southern Circulation,Inc. I have documentation that shows who the real scammer is here. I have broken ALL ties with Mr. Brock due to his deceptive practices and shoddy business morals. As far as the "girl" that sold Andy a magazine, I wonder how she can point him towards my company(yeah, Ashley runs Mr. Brocks current office and sales organization, known as Top Sales) and he get angry with me due to my belligerence over this continuing problem. Thats right Andy, Ashley sold you the magazine at your dorm, and then sent you to me when yo called and complained. So, when you guys want to know the WHOLE story, then please get all of the facts before making accusations on here that can, and do hurt, reputable companies. Dave Fussell 256-270-9114

I think if you check some more, you will find that HOWARD BROCK was the owner of SOUTHERN CIRCULATION as well as C&S SALES as well as TOP SALES. His phone number is 256-881-1541 and, if you call, you just might talk to ASHLEY CARMAN who was probably that pushy salesgirl you bought a magazine from. He is still in business under a new name and she is now his "assistant". Also try calling the BBB or the Huntsville Police Department or the Alabama Attorney General's Office and find out what they say about it.
