Complaint Review: Southern New Hampshire University - Manchester New Hampshire

Hello, 

I had a horrible experience with Southern New Hamisphire University. I really don't understand with all the bad reviews why are they still open that is my thoughts. I had an arguement with a professor of mine. She was a person that had a horrible attitude. I had notified the dispute team, and that stated that it was all my fault. Really? She gave me an F and told me that my powerpoint needed to be done again. She wasted my time and she was very controlling. I didn't believe this University would play dishonesty, and then they are very discriminated against people  whom have disablities. Don't go here because of that because it isn't right at all. They only reach out to me when I had reach out to them. That is very sketchy to me. This should have never happened. Students deserve good treatment, not poor treatment. We have gone to college to become better not to feel upset and stress out more. I got burnt out by the end of this semester. I don't understand why this school doesn't have really a Dean present because that would have solve a lot. I couldn't go above to speak to any department this is just odd to me. 

I agree with you that SNHU has an excellent sales force, financial aid service, and organization to discredit students that realized they've been had.

It does not take "rocket science", good grammar and spelling to see fraud and scam.

Students like to believe they attend a genuine school to get educated and improve the quality of their lives and therefore fall prey to these "Trump-like" private learning institutions.

It is sad for me to see there are so many "Trump-like" universities that think they are smart for defrauding the system and students.

 You seem to have everything figured out. How a teacher is supposed to teach. How a financial aid department supposed to function. How a school in general operates. I mean you seen to know it ALL. So why was you trying to go to college then???? Like a teacher use to tell me, I HAVE ALREADY ACHIEVED MINE, SHUT UP AND LISTEN SO YOU CAN ACHIEVE YOURS!!!!. As for financial aid, its like a bill! IF YOU DO NOT WANT IT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TAKE IT!!!!! Lord you seem like an easy person to sell salt to.

There is a commercial on TV here in San Diego, which advertises posting reviews for companies to dilute negative reviews. When I first saw it, I wondered why a company would spend money to repress their negative reviews. One would think they would use the money to fix the company’s failings, instead of covering them up.

After reading the last post, I feel Justin7266 is paid to troll the internet in search of negative reviews. Ask yourself what 100% happy college student has the time to troll a site on scammers for the pure fun of it. In addition, maybe Southern New Hampshire University should hire Justin7266 and lee31 in their admissions department. They knew in a few paragraphs what SNHU should have known before admitting a student with “low intelligence” (Justin7266 words not mine), which he believes not to be collage ready. I think his review reflects more on SNHU, than this former student. It shows they admit anyone that applies with a high school diploma regardless collage readiness, if Justin7266 is correct in his assessment.  

In my situation, I know what happened, and SNHU knows what happened. I have my transcript now, so I am assuming they can only hold it for a year. I would never advise anyone to not attend any university; my reality may not be yours. However, no matter where you decide to go please do not be afraid to be a squeaky wheel when you feel you have been treated unfairly. Speak up because that is the only way to let the university know what they are doing wrong. Also, inform them when the people that represent them are not doing what they are paid to do. I hope whichever university you decide to attend has the compassion to hear its students concerns, and work with them to rectify the problem.

In conclusion, SNHU if you are paying a company to search out your bad reviews to try to dismiss complaints against your company, shame on you. Remember, everyone makes mistakes including you. Moreover, it is not the mistakes you make that show your weak character; it is how you choose to correct the mistake that show how weak you are. IT IS OKAY TO MAKE MISTAKES!!! Just have the character to fix it.

I'm not trying to sound rude, but most of the time when I see responses like the ones posted here about colleges in general, the people responding seem to be of low intelligence.  If your grammar/spelling is anything like the post on here, then you probably won't do well at any college.  Not to mention, it seems as if you were trying to start arguments with the professor.  School just isn't for you, and you really shouldn't go degrading a school name because you couldn't do well in the classes.

As for the original post, financial aid is always a stressful thing to deal with at any school.  I obtained my BS at a large State school and had some pretty bad experiences there as well.  However, if you miss the drop class deadline, you miss it and are just out of luck.  That is at ANY college that you may attend.  I find it very hard to believe that someone at the school just wouldn't let you drop before the date.  We are all adults, and in this case you should have handled the situation in the beginning as was fit for you.  Any college will hold your transcript if you owe them money, end of story on that one.  

I finished my BS with online courses at a State school and heard many of the same complaints.  People enroll in online courses and think the class work is going to be easier and that the teachers are going to hand feed you information.  When this doesn't happen, the students fail the class and blame the school.  I am working on my MA at Southern New Hampshire University and have had nothing but great experiences so far and have not run into anything unusual or shady as some of the posts may have people believe.  In all of my research online I keep running into the comment that various colleges just treat you "like a number."  If you are enrolled in any college to have them make you feel special, then you are in the wrong place.

Yikes. I can see why the teacher tried to correct you on your grammar. At work you are reviewed on the quality of your work, the teacher was not wrong as grammar is a big part of writing. Spell check and re-read what you wrote before you post. 

I was reading this complaint and I totally AGREE they are TRAINED to turn your attention to something else;  I filed my own complaint and mentioned this same behavior!

I had a similar experience one of the Instructor decided not to use APA style or rubic. A heated argument began when I started my first assignments wasn't graded. I spent hours watching the movie than turn in the report. I couldn't believe my work had a zero on it the next couple of day's. I wanted to drop out and transfer to a different course but only to find out it was just a sample quiz and not graded. Also the Instructor was awful with a Altitude every thing she said had no loyalties connection. However the insults and critism I sure wasnt going to accept it. She later on every paper work Jamie Marich was awful. The advisor was pretended like it was normal to allow critism for grammar and punctually not the physical course. I was force to sign a form for misconduct and speak up for myself. I couldn't sit back and watch the insultes for my good work. I made have needed a polish on my work. She didn't even offered a make up just a flat grade F or 76 in Human Sexuality I was like are you serious 8 ball classroom. I was eventually wanted to transfer to another Universities I got tired of crap. I requested a refund 960 dollar for unsatisfied by email no response whatsoever. I have decided to contact a legal counselor or attorney to help resolve my problem. A red arm band for ignorance and mistreated student. I call no one answer just a run around and Amon, Alyss the advisor hung up in my face and the dean told me no one going to talk to me. Until I sign the form which i did on that friday. I called on Tuesday just runaway advisors an coce Helen's wasn't helpful either for students affairs approach. She'd disabling the called and claims I was yelling such a lie, I called back she continue to hang up in my face. I became just another number to them. Dean Anthony's Silicone he said he wasn't able to read my message. I couldn't believe and told me I misspelled his name where do get off talking to students in that matter. Phone records are proofs they madeal finale decision over the weekend without consulting me. Even after the dean claims after I sent the fax then I can make appointment he lied. I was suspended even after the fax was sent to their office. A ripoff I want my refund backfor poor srvice and the unk nowledge fake Instructors. Keep change rubic format and have no clue what she doings. I wouldn't recommended anyones to attend this University it pricing and bad services.
