On July 27th, 2011, I dropped an almost new EU200i Honda Generator off at Southern Powerworks in Freeport, Florida. I first went to the front counter and was told to take the generator around back. In hindsight, I should have asked for a work ticket, but I did not. I went around back to a large open dorr and sat my Honda Generator on the ground. The service technician grabbed a ticket from a box and attached to it. He then immediately proceeded to take the generator to the back of his shop. I immediately asked if I needed a pick-up ticket, to which he replied, "Not really, it'll be ready in a couple weeks, I have professionals in front of you." Thinking this was normal procedure, I said, "OK!", and got in my car and left.

On Tuesday, August 9th, 2011, I went to Southern Powersports to pick up my Honda Generator. The same tech conveniently did not remember me dropping the generator off, and walked around the floor in circles claiming that I never dropped a generator off. My heart sank as I realized this goon-thief knew more than he was telling. The owners did not offer to replace or purchase another generator. Don't trust this company with the repair of ANY item, it may come up missing. I did call the police and then filed a police report. I am also offering a $500 reward for the return of the generator (it is 1 of 2/ matched set).

Mistaken Identity* Southern PowerWorks is a GREAT company!

On july 27th, 2011, I took a generator to Southern PowerWorks to have it repaired. They were very busy (as all good companies should be), so I decided to take it to another repair shop. After approximately three (3) weeks, I mistakenly went back to Southern PowerWorks to pick up my generator. Naturally, they did not have it, I dropped it off at another repair shop. I was very angry and accused them of stealing it. I filed a police report (since has been redacted completely) and was waiting to amend the police report to include the serial number of the generator.

Night before last, the actual repair company called to tell me that my generator was ready to be picked up.
I was shocked, never remembering that I had dropped it off at another location. I take 20 medications a day, including heart drugs and chemotherapy, and I am sure that these drugs had some affect on my judgment that day, in fact, I still don't remember going to another repair shop. I immediately went to the police station to redact the report, picked up the generator, and immediately went to apologize to Tom Waldrop, the owner.

I then contacted Rip Off Reports to pull my complaint. Several hours later, while on the phone with Reputation Defender, the report no longer came up in a Google search, I thought the issue was over and I contacted Mr. Waldrop again. Apparently, the report has been indexed again in Google.

To that end, Southern PowerWorks should not have been listed on Rip Off Reports. I have lived in this area for 8 years and have sent them several customers in the past. You may put your full faith and trust in this company, no other company in this area comes close to what they can do. They are honest people that deserve your business.

Finally, I will work hard to remove this report completely from an Internet search. Those of you that understand how the Internet works, knows that this cannot be accomplished in one day. In the meantime, I hope you have the opportunity to work with the Waldrop's and Southern PowerWorks, you are assured of having the best service anywhere.
