Hi, as a Senior traveler I have used Southwest numerous times. My luggage was damaged in transit, when I  arrived home I did not discover the damage until I unpacked the next day. I called and was told that I had to report it within 4 hrs. of landing. Of course an hour of that was standing in line to get my luggage. They instructed me to make a report any way. I noticed a tag on my luggage :Caution When Lifting" when I enquired , I was told it was because there was damage so be careful when lifting.

Needless to say they denied the claim, I think because I am a senior, I was not alert enough to detect any damage, they assume that I would not pursue. They seem to count on the fact that you are in a hurry to get home after a long trip and will not want to return to the airport, so they use this time frame to discourage pursuing a claim. Unfortunately many of us ae compelled to use the "Grey Hound of the airlines to travel due to it being the only available flight.

Perfect example of no regulations so they do as they please. Thx.
