Just received an email from American Express indicating that my card was charged $14.85 by SPOKEO 18006994264. SPOKEO cannot assert that I purchased some time ago and this is a renewal, or that I do not recall ordering from them, and so on.
Due to unrelated fraudulent activitiy, American Express replaced the card I had for many years with a new card. SPOKEO charged the new credit card number. However, I have had the card in my possession for just a few days, and have not shared it with anyone.
I am going to have Amex not pay the charge, and will inform them of the numerous similar complaints made here and elsewhere.
