Sprint Cellular deceptive advertizing, deceptive offers, deceptive pricing, poor general service poor reception and availability of service. London Kentucky
As my business requires that I drive over 120 to 150 miles per day during the third shift, it is a necessity that I have a working cellular phone to insure my safety. We were quite happy with the Motorola analog phone that we owned prior with another company. From time to time there was the odd dead spot but the phone was inexpensive to run and met our safety needs. Unfortunatly the industry in general moved to another technology.
We were impressed by the advertizing that we heard and saw about Sprint.
Our first mistake was to believe the advertizing of a cellular phone company. Their ad promised that we would get a 260 dollar rebate to defray the cost of a 260 dollar cellular phone. Such was not the case, we never reciever the rebate. We were to only be charged 39.00 dollars per month for the 1000 minutes that we were to be allowed to use.
This too was not the case. Some how we never had less than a 50.00 dollar bill each month. We were so upset with Sprint that we stopped using the darn thing for any purpose than to use it for road service escheuying it's use for any purpose. For two months we did not use it at all and the bill was still over the minimum.
The phone uses chargers like candy. We finally purchased a cheepy charger from radio shack and that has survived.
After contacting Sprint and complaining continously we were finally allowed to down grade our service to the minimum cost per month. This was after a 35.00dollar service charge. By the way that term Sprint service is at best an oxi-moron like military intellegence or honest politition.
We now turn the phone on during the time that I am in the car and off at all other times for fear that there will be cost overrides. We don't use it other than for a safety moniter or to heaven forbid to call 911.
