Everything was fine until.....

October 2010. I registered back in March 2010. I got every gift card that I should have gotten until October. Then things got to more of the same as reported here by others. I had to threaten with a Civil Action & such to get the month of October but, nothing since. I have received many return emails with what I call "canned answer messages" & even a phone call a week ago with the excuse of "Because the program has become so popular that they have become backed up with work and are attempting to resolve the issue".

But nothing since then. I have sent them emails through their srebateshelp.com over the last 3 weeks & no response. I guess that I should feel luckier than most. Considering that I have gotten the $12.95 investment back in rebate cards but, still with me, it's the PRINCIPAL of the contract that they willingly entered into with me & others. I would think that this would be grounds of a LAWSUIT for Breech of Contract.

If any of us had entered into this type of agreement with someone they would be abil to SUE us!! I will be looking into that in the weeks to come. In the meantime, I think that we should ALL contact the SEC and ANY other Goverment/State Agencies that will listen. Even go as far as the local State Capital Goverment, Congresspersons & Senators. We ALL need to put as MUCH presure on these people as we can. They will either PAY UP or FOLD UP!! Either way we win. We can also at that point file a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against ALL list owners/ board members or any officers that the company shows listed on any legal filing. We should ALL get together & do something about these people that think that it's O.K. to RIP OFF hard working people.

BBB won't accomplish anything. They don't resolve issues like this. Oh, they will take your report but, if no one looks for the reported action it's MEANINGLESS.

Take all of this for what it's worth. But, just maybe we can actualy get them to respond if Congresspersons & Senators call on them or contact them with a letter. You NEVER KNOW what they may do!!!

I have also been ripped off by Star Rebates.  I filed a complaint under miscellaneous companies on this site as well.  I e-mailed and e-mailed with the same response back - due to the overwhelming response, blah blah blah.  Finally I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and I did get some action after that.  They sent me 3 $20 rebates and I also got a call from the supervisor asking me to call him before I filled any more complaints.  I tried that along with more e-mails with the same response.  So now I will file a complaint with anyone and everyone I can including the consumer rights advocat Amy Clancy with KIRO TV, the Attorney General and BBB again.  The company I am getting my rebates for is Walmart so I will also send them a complaint as well.
I did my part and now they need to do theirs.

What a scam..... I did not believe that I entered into this, and also dont believe that a big company like ADT Security System believed on this people and passed the information to their customers.
What else should we do? If open a Class Action I am on it. Let me know.

E-mail Seattle consumer rights advocate Amy Clancy @ KIRO TV she is exposing these people [email protected] She will follow up on an individual basis.  They have ripped me off too. It's probably mail fraud. Also you can e-mail the Attorney General a complaint using the following link: www.atg.wa.gov/fileacoplaint.aspx

Good Luck

PS: I e-mailed the AG a few months ago and got my first 3 cards. I had to email them again recently.

I am also an angry consumer that has been ripped off by Star Rebates Inc. Thank you  for filing  this report. I would love to see a class action lawsuit filed. This company needs to pay up or be shut down for good.

I am also a victim. Currently they owe me $340. I vote for class action lawsuit. It is the principle that they should not get away with this, not the amount they owe just me. Together we can sue their pants off and hopefully take back more money than they have unjustly obtained.
