Complaint Review: Star Search Casting - Ventura California

The company this person is talking about started doing business in 2003 and was only in business for about 3 years. They kept changing their name and website so people would not catch on to their scam. They were located near San Diego California in Oceanside and also used an address in Carlsbad. There is a real company named Star Search Casting, Inc. ( http://www.StarSearchCasting.com ) that has been in business since 1998 and is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Fortunately, the scam company is no longer around but their bad reputation continues to hurt a legitimate company.

In regard to the complaint by Ashley, this complaint should not be addressed to Star Search Casting, rather it should be addressed to the company who actually charged her credit card for her membership to the Star Search Casting website. This is a marketing company called PrimeTime Entertainment - (http://PrimeTimeCasting.com) and ShowTime Entertainment (http://ShowTimeCasting.com). This is whom he originally spoke to when she first called. In the past, PrimeTime Entertainment sold memberships to Star Search Casting's online talent database without compensating Star Search Casting because they did not yet have their own website. They even obtained a merchant credit card account (without Star Search Casting's permission or authorization) in our company's name so the charge on the customer's account would show the merchant as Star Search Casting, even though it was not Star Search Casting who actually charged the customer. Star Search Casting does not even have any customer billing or credit card information for Ashley or any of the other members who were placed on our website by PrimeTime Entertainment. Ashley is a customer of PrimeTime Entertainment so she must contact them directly to get things resolved. Because Star Search Casting did not charge Ashley for her membership and never took any money from her, it is therefore not the party who is responsible to issue her a refund. She needs to go directly to PrimeTime Entertainment and request that refund from them since they are the party who took her money. I am attaching the dates of the games along with some information. I need about 8-10 students at each game. They reduced the age to be 15 years old. If any are 18 let me know because they can work the register. I would need to check ID. If any are 18 I would count them as an adult so you can have more students come. check the dates and let me know which ones you to help with. If you have names in advance send them to me. I would need to know shirt sizes so they can have them ready. Each student will get a letter thanking them for volunteering for the Arthritis Foundation. We would need you there between 4- 4:30 for the 7 pm games or 10-10:30 for the Sunday games. They open the gates 1-2 hours before the games start. Once the game is over we finish cleaning up and get out as quickly as possible. The best thing is to carpool - you will have to pay for parking or if you go to a trolley stop, pay for the trolley.
