Last week I ran my credit report and found out that there is a negative report from a collection agency called USCB Corporation. The collection report came from Stratford Career Institute. This was very surprising to me because I have never done business with Stratford before. An agent from USCB Corporation instructed me to call Stratford C.I. When I called Stratford I found out that there was one account belonging to my niece, which has the same name as mine and lived at a different address. I explained about the name mix up to the Stratford agent. My niece never used my address for this purpose. The Stratford agent told me to fax him a copy of my I.D. and my information. AFter faxing my I.D., I called Stratford to make sure they received the information through the fax. The agent said the collection record would be cleared in one week from my credit report.
I called today, 3/4/15 to find out the status on this case. The agent said Stratford could not remove the negative collection report because I have the same name as my niece. After faxing them a copy of my I.D. and information to have this account removed from my credit report, Stratford opened a second account with all my information. This is abuse and fraud of personal information on their part. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can give me an idea on how to report abuse from Stratford Institute or whom I should direct all concerns regarding this company.
