The timeshare resale scams are just a symptom. They need to do something about the timeshare scam itself. An obligation 'in perpetuity' - that passes to your children? There is almost no legal way out of the obligation, even if you don't use the facilities and want to sell it back (they won't take them back). In other words, they hawk 'property' that you cannot resell, cannot give back, and has literally no value in the market - and tell you that you have to pay 'maintenance' forever... and that they can assess 'special fees' on in order to do repairs they *should* have been doing with the maintenance fees

My name is David Humphrey, President and Founder of The Owners Advocate. Today I found out for the first time that Tom Miller literally copy/pasted my website content and created a fraudulent mirror image of my company. Mr Miller, whom had contacted me late last year about the possibility of being affiliated, and whom I denied that right due to Mr. Miller's involvement in past Call Center based scams in Florida, is indeed a fraud.
He does not have permission from The Owners Advocate to utilize our proprietary information, which is the entire content of his copycat website, nor can he do the things purported on his website as again, it is my business model and information. The Owners Advocate has been helping consumers for 2 years, and unfortunately for consumers needing legitimate assistance, unscrupulous individuals like this exist.
I have reported his illegal actions to the authorities in Florida as well as GoDaddy which hosts his domain. I am also filing a lawsuit against Mr. Miller in Federal Court for copyright infringement as well as theft of trade secrets and proprietary information.
You can clearly see with minimal research that theownersadvocate.com was created well before Mr. Miller decided to break the law and copy it. All the testimonials, images and links are real and were created over the last 2 years. The images of releases from contracts that Mr. Miller uses on his website are property of The Owners Advocate and our clients.
Additionally, I have personally attempted to contact Mr. Miller and let him know under no certain circumstances is he to allow his fraud to continue. He has not returned my call.
StellarAdvocate is nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. Mr. Miller has no standing to provide the services that The Owners Advocate does. He is nothing more than an opportunistic con man. Consumers beware and do your research. Avoid Stellar Advocate until the authorities can enforce the law and shut this scammer down. Thank God for The Rip Off Report and the work Ed and his team do to allow consumers to avoid being taken for money in these tough economical times.
Shame on you Mr. Miller. On behalf of any consumer that has fallen victim to your deception, I will not rest until you are brought to justice.
