Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have witnessed, yet again, another good person let go by our company.

We had a good man who stood up for the customer and not the company...he was fired.

We sold a car that was destined for the wholesale auction. It had a problem in the throttle area. Knowing this Greg Tumolo had it sold to a customer who had really bad credit and needed a cheap car.

The customer came in the DAY AFTER they bought the car with the car running very badly. The service department was in shock. Why did sales sell this car BEFORE they fixed it? Why DIDN'T they tell the customer the car had major problems?

When the service advisor went to the sales manager to see about fixing the car the sales manager told him that "the customer would have to pay for it. And besides the customer still owes us money anyway."

Dan Emmerman, the service manager, expressed his concerns to Greg Tumolo, the General Sales Manager, and was rebuked.

We sold another car to a customer. It was used and had low mileage. This customer never came into the dealership and the deal took forever to make happen. Within a week after the salesman, Keith, delivered the car to the customer, the customer called the service mangager, Dan Emmerman at our Mazda dealership where the vehicle was purchased. He complained there was no oil change sticker, the used car inspection information was nowhere to be found and the brakes felt funny. Dan looked up the car and realized the sales department hadn't sent the car through the shop before the sale and the sales department hadn't made any provisions to do so. The customer was informed by keith that the car was checked out and that the mechanic must have forgot to apply a sticker. Even though there are no records to back that claim.

Dan scheduled the car in and advised the sales manager Greg Tumolo when it came in. After being told about the situation, Greg advised the service department to "take care of it and don't mention the car came from Enterprise...the customer doesn't know it was a rental car."

The oil got changed, the used car checkover was completed and the brakes were checked. It needed brakes and Dan told the shop to do the work. He didn't charge the customer a dime.

After the customer picked up their car and reviewed the inspection report, Greg went crazy..."why did we replace the brakes? I thought you were going to just change the oil and pat him (the customer) on the back...you know make him feel good. NOT spend all the money we made in the deal on brakes!"

Dan was fired 1 week later. When asked about the firing Greg said " Yeah I knew he was going, it was my mission"

This doesn't make sense. Keep a liar, conman sales manager and get rid of the man with ethics, morals and a conscience. This is how Pat Koballa runs his dealerships.

Dan was the 6th service manager I had seen there and now they have hired back a man Pat Koballa fired 3 years ago. Bravo Stevenson. I need my job but now i'm looking.

Mr Porter, I too shall pray for the individual who wrote the origianl post. I too shall pray for you and your endeavors. I will also pray for the owners of the two cars mentioned in the original post because I have to believe the stories are true. Due to no reply to the contrary. To deny the stories may look like an admission, however, no response directed to the claims, seems to indicate some truth to the matters. May your business dealings be honest and true and may you be fruitfull in life as well as happiness. May the lord take you and your staff and bless them so as to keep their customers vehicles safe and sound. May you live every day with the truth in your heart and integrity in your mind.

very stupid and immature

I am the so called person that was fired 3 years ago (but it was just 2 years and 3 mths if it really matters). I can attest that the firing was justifiable due to my negative attitude at the time. Pat Koballa is a friend and a great boss. We will always remain friends whether I am working for him or not. He is a great business man who really does care about the customers and his people. The person who wrote the article does not know anything about the business decisions a manager has to make and how much it hurts to try and do what is right for the company. I personally hate it when it comes to a decision to teminate an employee - it hurts. But in some cases it has to happen for the good of the business. I can only hope in time whoever wrote this article will mature enough to understand how hard it is to run a profitable business and keep everyone happy. Lord only knows I will pray for this individual, because they really need it.
