In January, 2003 I chose straight2you.net as my isp. They advertised their buy one get ine free offer so I paid for a full year in advance and was assured I would have my second year free.

In March, 2003 my credit card was charged for another years service. I contacted them and was assured by Anthony that I'd receive a refund, in fact he told me that he put it through while he put me on hold. Didn't happen.

Instead in April, May, June, and July I was billed another $13.00 per month. When I spoke with "eric" who claimed Anthony was never in the office due to "other projects", I was assured once once again that credits would be issued. I asked if he could e-mail me a receipt, which he willingly did. If course the receipts were phoney, no credits went through but at least it kept me off the phone bothering them.

I spoke with Anthony one last time. He told me he called his bank while I was on hold and transferred funds directly to my credit card. He then gave me his "personal" telephone number in case I had any other problems. No credits, the phone number was a fake. It was a residential telephone of which the resident has had for twenty years.

On October 2nd, 2003 my credit card was charged again, I didn't bother to call. I e-mailed them and was once again assured that I would be credited, I wasn't. The next e-mail from them stated it was the fault of my credit card company, that is a lie! They no longer answer my e-mails, this will probably end up in court.

I've closed that account now, a major inconvenience. I've run up my phone bill using their non toll free number hoping to find someone truthful, and I won't even go into the months they owe me for referrals and their guarantee of no busy signals. This experience has been a nightmare, especially since their service, at one time, was exceptional.

It seems Carole has resolution with her complaint. I have tried emailing numerous times, calling during business hours, etc. and have either been completely ignored (including by Anthony-the "owner"!) or lied to. I'm glad Carole's situation has worked out at least!

I spoke with Anthony at great length over the last two days. He has sent to me a copy of a fax he sent to my credit card company showing that he had tried to credit my account. It certainly does now appear to have been a miscommunication between all parties involved. I have been told by my credit card company to call on Tuesday to verify that credits have gone through.

I will put an update here to clarify everything after I speak with them on Tuesday. If in fact it was the fault, as Anthony stated all along, of my credit card company then I owe him a HUGE apology. I've already stated how pleased I was with every other aspect of his service, I hope to be a life long client after the dust has settled. If it doesn't settle, well, I'll be here b*tching again! ;-)

I would suggest to everyone to try to open communication with straight2you, you may be surprised!

Carole,

I understand your frustration with our billing department, and I am extremely sorry you've had such a problem.

We've issued you a refund check, which will be sent to you by November 15th 2003 for the overcharges.

The reason why you were never credited was because your bank rejected the credits as the charges were too old to offset. We found this out today.

Once more, I am extremely sorry that this has happened, and I invite you to try our service again, without charge.
