Complaint Review: Stubaus Transport - Elk Grove Village Illinois

 In March of 2016, I was applying to trucking companies in my area. I did not call this company, they called me. Because I was so desperate to get to work, I applied and accepted the driving position. We agreed that I would stay out 8 days and be home no more than 2 days. My first time out, I drove in a tractor that was old, doors broken inside and out, no bunk heat. This nightmare began on March 18, 2016 and didn't end until April 13, 2016. During this most horrible experience in my driving career, I was repeatedly asked to ignore DOT regulations, had to have 4 tires replaced because they were old an dry rotted, and afterthe firsst week, ended up owing them $350. I called Christian and Cristina and informed them that I was sick due to no bunk heat.( You got charged for fuel if you idled to much.). They laughed and joked that I just had the flu and I would be alright. I also told them that I didn't think this would work out. Christian conned me into staying, by promising I would make money with this company. Things got worse. He ignored my requests to be routed home, instead, he gave me a load past Chicago to Pennsylvania. Mind you, I have repeatedly asked him to get me home so I could see a doctor. I had to reschedule my appts. twice. Knowing that I needed to get home, He kept giving me loads further east. During all this time, I am not sleeping well because I have to keep getting up to turn the truck on and off to get heat in the sleeper. Now all these miles I'm driving, along with all the pick ups and deliveries in between, I was looking to getting a pretty nice check.

WRONG! Just before I was getting a load to finally get home, he started talking about my idling the truck to long, driving out of route, and anything else he could come up with to deduct money from my pay. Payday was the following day. This time I get no invoice of payment. I give Cristina my direct deposit information, still nothing. Now they are not answering the phone, sending my pay information, on putting any money in my account. During all this time, I am sick and in severe pain. I finally decided that I had enough!! I proceeded to head east go home. The pain had gotten so bad, I was driving with one hand. I made it as far as I could to get help from my daughters to remove my things off his truck and get me to a doctor. I get text from Cristina asking when will I be back in Elk Grove Village. I told her that I only got as far as South Bend, IN and that Christian could pick the truck up at the Pilot. She could ask about the truck, but still no mention of my pay for all that work I did even while I insisted to be routed home. Christian then threatened to put abandonment on my DAT, to tarnish my driving record. I knew they had no intention of paying me anything.
