DO NOT purchase a Sumeer home!!! We did 2yrs ago, and til this very day things from the original walk through have not been done. Oh yea, they will come out, and look at it and say "WE will get this fixed!" Well surprise surprise they don't.

I am not the only one in my subdivision with this problem. Ed sent someone out a year ago and promised to "make things right" Oh, contractors would call, but never show. We still have cracked tiles, from before we even moved in. Not to mention the backyard!

The landscaping is so crooked and uneven the fence people had to put the fence 2ft off the ground. It is such a large gap that coyotes keep walking right under it and eating our family pets. They do not even have to get thier bellys dirty. Yea, pretty sad when you can not let your kids play outside because they are not even safe in their own backyard. We have to keep our animals on tie outs. We have lost so many, they just cruise right on under the fence. Oh, they makes them sitting ducks for everythings else. Ed came out again 2 wks ago. "The fence people will come fix it" Surprise nobody showed.

We were told the ground would be leveled before we signed the contract on the home. In our first walk thru we were told it would be done. They talk a good game, but do not follow through. One neighbor actully had a sign up" Do not buy Sumeer!" Which seemed funny because down in another subdivision someone from my kids school said there were other similar signs over there. I will not embarress my neighbors that were fornutate enough to be smart and use a different builder. The painter is the only person that ever showed up to fix all the cracks. Oh not to mention all the bags of trash in the front yard. The workers left it there and Sumeer covered it up with dirt. We went to dig to add rose bushes and we found bags of magits and trash. Happened to another neighbor when they were digging in their yard. We kept our bags for evidence.

The porch is cracking due to the way the it was made. Another neighbor was actully able to have Sumeer fix theirs. The carpet has the biggest seams you have ever seen. The air conditioner runs and rattles so loudly it wakes everbody up. The warmest or coolest place in the house is always the master closest. Makes sense hugh?

Again, it took a year to get someone out to look at it. After that we have had about a total of 5 people out. There was someone before Ed, but I can't remember his name. He was transfered. That happened two times. Someone would get transfered while working on it. They promise to fix it, just long enough to shut us up. We have an appointment with a Real Estate attorney. I guess the only way to get their attention is to go to court. I belive we will discuss it with our other neighbors. Maybe we will file class action. You buy what you think is your dream home, and you end up robbed with empty promises.

I am glad the other person who filed a report with Rip Off got things taken care of. Ed apparently helped him, just not us. Doc, the man who sold us the house ripped us off. When he said he would fix the backyard and add grass. All he had them to is cover up the uneven landscape with grass squares. They did not even remove the very large rocks to do so. They just covered them right up!

Please take my word, save yourself the hassle and buy from a company that takes pride in their work and backs up there words! Nobody deserves to have their children come home to half eaten family pets. If the landscaping was fixed and the fence was fixed the kids could actually play out there. The backyard is so uneven we could not even put a small blow up pool out there. It keep leaning sideways and all the water kept running out down the neighbors backyards. Buyer beware who you deal with and do not make it SUMEER!

Sumeer Still Refuses To Uphold Contract

#2Author of original report

Since this origianl report was filed, I STILL have the same problems. I have gone through Myron, Ed, Doc and several others. They refuse to help. They call the uneven fence and 12 inch gap between it erosion. I still do not have new tiles for my kitchen that were to be replaced. They were cracked before we moved in. I am done. I agree, we all need to join forces. I am in the Longbranch Subdivision close to La Vista. There are others in my neighborhood that need help also. The last time I asked for help, I was told, why don't you put a sign up, it won't help we have sold everything in that neighborhood! They do not stand buy anything they build unless there is house they need to sell right next to you, even then it is a battle. My dream home is a night mare. My kids can not even play in the backyard it is so uneven. We can't keep our pets in, or other creatures large and small out! How can I get in contact with you. We will file with you! Today! I can give you names of others. Very dishonest, Homebuilders. Buyer Beware!

Nothing has changed with Sumeer

I am also in La Vista Estates and have been waiting to have them honor my 1 year warranty claim. We have worked with Jay, Ed, Carlos and most recently Myron. NOTHING has been done other than a little texture on my water damaged ceiling. My 1 year claim was submitted 2 1/2 years ago and still waiting. I think it is time everybody got together. We are currently in the process of filing against them. Its called BREACH of contract!

The first time my family bought a house from Sumeer, it was in the Sunrise Meadows development, Doc had worked there first, we had to deal with him and all of the problems he created. Since then we've moved to the La Vista area for large property. Doc had been gone before we got a house here, and the La Vista area has since gotten a new representative. She's very helpful and does work to fix house problems as quick as she can. I suggest to go speak with her as soon as you can. ~Henry
