Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Our miserable move, courtesy of Summit, from Texas to Pennsylvania was very similar to the other stories posted. We dealt with the same cast of characters (Guy & Heidi as well as a person named Adam who was allegedly the company supervisor'), the same games (someone was always on vacation, at lunch, will get right back to us or was looking very hard for our missing items) and the same lies. In addition, the actual price was twice the estimate.

The movers in Texas arrived a day and a half late, the movers in Pennsylvania arrived only about a half of a day late. In both cases, two men in a rental truck without uniforms showed up and worked very slowly and sloppily. I watched in horror as my very expensive speakers were brought into the van, unwrapped and unprotected were DRAGGED across the floor of the vanas my handcrafted model airplane was being bent while wrapped. . . .as things were clattering in boxes, etc.

Our goods stayed in storage for about 3 months. When it arrived in Pennsylvania just about EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was damaged. Like the other postings, the boxes were filthy, bent and many times the This Side Up was upside down! I wonder what in the world they use for their storage facilities it seemed like everything was stuck in a grain silo.

All of our furniture, most of which is not more than two years old, had deep scratches in the wood and our sofa has rips in the fabric. We had just purchased matching handmade rocking chairs which now look like kindling. My very expensive home theater equipment has been scratched and bent all the separates were packed in a box with nothing between the items. Similarly, our paintings and prints were just jammed into boxes without any wrapping so all of the glass was shattered and the pictures and frames are scratched.

The worst part is my extremely rare and expensive high end Micromega cd player was taken. This was a piece of equipment worth about $3,500 which can never be replaced, I saw it go in the van but it did not get here. Summit claim to be looking for it.

We took about 70 photographs and filled-in the very laborious claims report and submitted it to Summit. But, we should have just thrown the papers in the garbage because it's getting us absolutely nowhere. My calls are not returned and I am sure there is no attempts being made to find my cd player or to compensate us the huge $.60/pound damage insurance.

I filed a complaint with the BBB. Summit responded that we were given the option to purchase additional insurance during the initial transaction. This is a complete lie. The guys hardly spoke English and so simply thrust the papers at me to sign.

I will be filing a small claims report.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
