i woke up at 3am with my computer screen telling me that my files were safe and encripted with rs something encription and only visiting my personal web page they set up for me could i save my files.

checked all my personal files and could not open even 1 of them

then went to friends house and googled it. was advised to not pay the ransom by all i found.

so i googled my virus protection "AVAST" i had REE EDITION. i clicked on what i thought was avasts main site.

i called the number and explained the situation to the lady that answered. she said that my files could be recovered only by a MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SPECIALIST and it would cost me, but they needed to access my computer first.

so i went home and called them again and gave permission and did what they said to do. was then told that the virus had infected every file and would cost me $300 to fix. i was told that i would recive lifetime virus protection, 5years of 24/7 support to fix any issues .well i had over that much invested in ebooks etc... on my computer so i told them i would have to borrow the money and call them back.

should have just installed a new hard drive and cut my losses. i paid then the 300 dollars and was handed off to a technition who's first language was not english.

9 hours later i was told that my computer was all back l;ike it should be.

i tried to open a pdf file on my desktop and it would not open. told the guy about it and he did more remote access work. when he said it was nothing wrong i told him which file to open so he couldnt open it and told me it was corupted. so i opened up the icon on my desktop that the virus had placed there telling me there was nothing i could do to unencript my files but to do as they said to do. the tech guy read it and told me there was nothing that could be done but i now had avast pro for 5 years and 24/7  remote computer repair for 12 months.

every 240 minutes avast notifies me to update the definitions. and each time i try it says my license is invallid or banned. i have to contact support by clicking pc support icon on my desktop and they spend a long time updating. if i click the icon on my desktop for the AVAST license it shows    License holder:. the date and time will indicate the autheniticy of who bought the license and at what time etc.. to prove these clowns actualy did this

and i can nopt download any pdf's etc.. as they all fail to download now.

they have spent so many hours remotely on my computer they most likely have a clone of my hard drive and every keystroke ive ever made, so nothing is secure anymore. i now have to buy a whole new computer etc... how could i ever trust anthing ever connected to this computer. thank god i bought a prepaid debit card instead of useing my friends debit card. but i used her card on my computer in the past.
