Sunset Rentals Bugs, Dirt & Disrepair Hilton Head South Carolina
This company is a rip-off. I paid for my son and his family to rent a Hilton Head/Sea Pines home as a get-away gift before his 7 year old daughter had to have cancer surgery. The house was a disgrace and the photos/description of the house was a joke.
Upon arrival, there were dead and alive bugs/roaches everywhere. The bedding was stained with urine and who knows what else. The bunk bed frame was broken and a health hazard. The entire house was filthy even though there were cleaning supplies and equipment left out in a room. The liner of the pool was not attached and was pulling away into the water in numerous places and was very dirty.
My son immediately called Sunset Rentals and got the emergency service person who sent a cleaning crew out and promised to send people the next morning to deal with the issues. The cleaning crew came in and hauled off all the bedding and said they shouldn't stay there because the place was filthy.
Because it was late and with 3 little kids, they slept on some of the clean sheets provided by the cleaning crew minus comforters and blankets - just sheets. My daughter-in-law was awakened to a bug crawling on her and they packed up and left. They never got a follow up call that next morning and even though they have been communicating with Sunset Rentals almost daily via phone and email for 2 weeks - they are getting no where and aren't getting call backs to their numerous voice mails being left.
I've disputed the charges with my Credit Card company and will continue to pursue this until Sunset Rentals provides a full refund. The owners of #20 Surf Scooter should be ashamed to try and rent their house out in this condition and if Sunset Rentals Company was legitimate, they wouldn't be trying to push such a property on unsuspecting travelers. Fortunately, we have 100+ photos and videos to substantiate how bad this property is.
