Anything that comes out on DVD for the first time is a "New Release", no matter if the movie is 40 years old or was in the theaters only 4 months ago. But semantics aside, the op wasn't clear in his complaint about what he received and judging by his lack of "english", I dont think he understood what he was getting in the first place.

You do realize that ALOT of old movies are JUST NOW appearing on DVD right? That means movies that were made in 1940's or 1950's have finally been released to DVD ( that in fact means they are NEW on DVD. and are NEW dvd's ). However, if you bought dvd's that aren't backed by Hollywood studios but someone recorded them to DVD-r's then you should complain to the MPAA.org about this website allowing such activity to take place.

If Mr. Richey is bootlegging old movies onto DVD, I believe this is a crime. I would strongly suggest turning him into a government agency that handles bootlegging copywrited material.
